About the job

We are seeking a social worker/mediator with the courage to work closely with children and their families in an engaged department. This is a permanent position in a children’s team for families with children aged 0 – 12 years.

We work in the Child and Family Department based on the development strategy “ A Sustainable Child and Family Collaboration ”. It is therefore expected that work is carried out closely with the child and the family, as well as in close interaction with the important collaborators and networks that are part of the child’s daily life. We focus on the relational approach, and our own role in the collaboration with the family.

We are curious about their wishes, hopes and dreams and will support the families to help themselves and take ownership of their change. We are committed to changes happening in collaboration with others and focus on civil society and their resources.

We can offer

  • A team of 7 dedicated colleagues
  • Well-structured introduction program and mentor
  • Close professional sparring with colleagues and management is an integral part of everyday life
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and professional community both inside and outside the building
  • We work with quality development in solving the family group’s core task
  • There is an obligation to supervision within the team
  • We are focused on wellbeing and ensuring we offer each other a good working environment

Job content

There are authority tasks with responsibilities under the provisions in the Child Act. The expectation is that work is carried out with great curiosity about the perspectives of the young people, the family and the network. The goal is to support vulnerable children and families to achieve the same development opportunities as others of the same age.

We place high emphasis on interdisciplinary work with the children, particularly together with school/day care, advisers in the adult sector.

There may be longer processes with advice and guidance, network meetings with the aim of alleviating the child’s and the family’s problems or interventions based on screening, mapping or child welfare investigations. We are committed to closely following up on whether our interventions have effects.

We are looking for a social worker or social facilitator who can say yes to

  • That you are able to work in a relationship and apply your professional skills in collaboration with people who need support
  • That you focus on resources, that you can mobilize them and develop them

  • That you have a solution-focused approach to the work
  • That you are open to developing possibilities/solutions that lead to sustainability for the family and that it is financially sustainable at the same time.
