Sønderkærskolen søger en uddannet lærer til udskolingen.

Sønderkærskolen, Hvidovre kommunes specialskole for børn i socio-emotionelle udfordringer med eller uden diagnoser, har fået en stilling ledig i vores udskoling.

So, if you want to be an important adult for young people who haven't always found school easy, but who deserve the same opportunities as everyone else, then this position may be for you.

With us you don’t just get a timetable and a pile of teaching tasks. You get the opportunity to help create a school day where students experience safety, mastery and the belief that they can succeed.

Our students are diverse, and so are our staff. We see that as a strength.

Maybe you are the teacher who is good at creating calm when things get a bit much. Maybe you are strong academically and love making teaching exciting. Maybe you have experience from the special educational field – or perhaps this is exactly where you want to develop yourself.

The most important for us is that you have a desire for the students and the teaching and social-pedagogical tasks that come with it.

You must be able to be clear without being rigid, caring without losing direction, and curious about what lies behind the behavior you meet.

You will become part of a team where we lift together. We work closely around the students and actively use each other’s different competencies.

A school day with us may include

• Teaching in the subjects – adapted to each individual student’s prerequisites.
• Conversations with a student, where the relationship and trust are the most important.
• Creative or practical activities that give students the opportunity to learn in other ways.
• Close collaboration with educators and colleagues.
• Planning and evaluation of teaching and student progress.
• Small and large moments where a student suddenly experiences: “I can actually do this.”

And yes – some days are also difficult. It’s part of the job. But you are not alone with them.

Can you do something with science subjects?

That would be a big plus – but it is by no means a requirement.

If you are passionate about science/technology, physics/chemistry, biology or other science-related areas, that will certainly not stand in your way.

Perhaps you have a special ability to get students to go out, explore the world, experiment and ask questions. That could become a really good part of our upper school.

But if your strongest sides lie somewhere else, we would also very much like to hear from you.
