About the job

1 teacher for the upper grades in a maternity leave replacement in our department at Pramstedvej.

1 teacher for the middle/early years in a permanent position at Laboratorievej.

Do you want to make a difference for children and young people with special needs?

At Sct. Jacobi School and Daycare we are looking for two committed and academically strong teachers who wish to be part of a special school with high professional standards, strong relationships and a clear common child-centered view.

We work every day to create the best conditions for children's well-being, development and learning. With us you become part of a professional community that supports children and young people with general and specific learning difficulties from the entire Municipality of Varde.

About us

Sct. Jacobi School and Daycare has about 280 pupils from 0-10th grade and around 140 dedicated staff. The organization is spread across three sites: Pramstedvej and Laboratorievej in Varde, plus a department in Tistrup. The Solsikken special kindergarten is also part of the organization, which collectively covers the special needs area in the Municipality of Varde.

Teaching is based on the framework of the Folkeskole Act and adapted to the individual pupil's needs, resources and potential.

We believe that all children have superpowers. Therefore, we do not see the child as their diagnosis, but as a person with unique strengths and development opportunities.

Action creates transformation

Our work is built on a systemic and resource-oriented view of children. We work with structure, clarity and visual support systems that create overview and security for the students.

We believe that learning and development arise through relationships, participation and meaningful communities. Therefore, we plan the teaching with a focus on the individual pupil's possibilities for mastery and development.

In collaboration with parents and external partners, we create the frameworks for a good childhood and youth life. With us adults take responsibility for the challenges, and we expect staff to dare to think creatively and innovatively in their approach to the children.
