Teacher for Phase 1 at Hornbæk School

We are looking for someone who is trained as a teacher and can teach in most subjects, especially Danish and English. The position is in Phase 1, which covers our 0th–4th grades, where your primary year-group team will be the 4th grade.

At Hornbæk School we are committed to how we together can develop varied teaching that creates opportunities for participation for all students. We organize ourselves in fixed year-team groups, where we develop common practice and see curiosity about our own practice as a strength.

At our school, project-based learning (PBL) is the pedagogical and didactic foundation. We believe that children learn best when they work exploratively, creatively and in collaboration with authentic problems.

This school year, half of the teaching is organized into four larger cross-disciplinary projects, where the year-team collaborates across subjects, closely around the teaching.

All of this in collaboration with the KATA Foundation and 10 LEAPS-schools spread across Denmark.

Because we indeed work project-based and cross-disciplinary, it is important that you – in addition to contributing with your own subjects – also see a strength in contributing in other subject areas and in being part of a learning community. We do not expect you to know everything about working project-based, but it is essential that you want to and are willing to learn it.
