SSA for night shift with a 15-year-old boy in Bispebjerg - 30 hours per week

Would you like to be part of a fixed team around a young man with complex respiratory needs?

We are looking for a social- and health care assistant for a permanent night shift of 30 hours per week in a well-functioning respiratory home care arrangement in Bispebjerg.

About the citizen

You will become part of the team around a 15-year-old, home-living young man. He has a tracheostomy and is in respiratory treatment around the clock due to tracheomalacia and dwarfism. He has his own spontaneous breathing 24 hours a day, but must be under respiratory monitoring within sight and hearing distance at all times.

It is an advantage if you can speak and understand English, as the young man’s mother only speaks English. There is a sweet dog in the home, so you must be able to cope with that.

The job

As a night shift worker the tasks mainly consist of

• Respiratory monitoring and observation
• Handling of tracheostomy and respiratory equipment
• Bed positioning and turning according to Appendix A
• Documentation and close collaboration with the team

The shifts

There are night shifts from 19:00-17:00 distributed over a 6-week rotation.

And on average there are 2-3 shifts per week including both weekdays and weekends.

• Is educated as a social- and health care assistant
• Is responsible, calm and observant
• Thrives working independently
• Can speak and understand English, since the citizen’s mother is English-speaking
• Is flexible and reliable for shifts
