About the job

As an SSP consultant you work both broadly preventively and with concrete concerns about individual youths and groups of young people. You must be present where the young people are, build relationships and translate your observations into action.

You collaborate with schools, clubs, associations, parents, police and colleagues across the child and youth sector. Together we shall create pathways into positive communities and develop new activities and preventive initiatives as needs arise.

From talking with the young person to a full parents’ meeting SSP-arbejdet kræver, at du kan bevæge dig mellem forskellige arenaer.

SSP work requires that you can move between different arenas. You must be able to establish natural contact with young people and at the same time feel comfortable conveying knowledge to school classes, professionals and larger gatherings.

It may involve youth life, substances, crime, digital communities or current trends among children and young people. You must be able to convey professional knowledge in a lively, credible and relatable way to the target group.

Du skal blandt andet

  • Be visible and accessible in the environments where children and young people spend time
  • Create contact with young people and groups – including those on the margins of communities
  • Identify and respond to worrying trends and risk behaviors
  • Support young people’s participation in positive activities and communities
  • Collaborate with schools, clubs, police, parents, associations and municipal departments
  • Plan and conduct presentations, teaching and dialogue programs for students, parents and professionals
  • Contribute with advice, sparring and professional knowledge
  • Identify new needs and develop SSP-relevant projects and preventive initiatives
  • Document the work and translate knowledge about developments in the youth area into action

You become part of something bigger SSP is part of our new Center for Families, Youth and Early Intervention, where we have gathered several professional strands to create stronger coherence in our efforts around children, youths and families.

SSP is located in the Youth Department together with the authority area for youths over 15, the Education Guidance and Youth & Employment.

It provides good opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration. For a young person, an SSP case is rarely just an SSP case, a school case or an employment case. Life is interconnected – and our interventions should be too.

Who are you? Your educational background can be pedagogical, social or another relevant education. The most important is that you have experience with children and young people and can translate your professional knowledge into practice.

We place emphasis on that you

  • Are strong in relationship work and can connect with different youths
  • Have an eye for both the individual youth, group dynamics and the environments in which youths operate
  • Are creative and action-oriented and can develop projects and rally others around new initiatives
  • Can adapt your communication to youths, parents and professionals
  • Work independently and value interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Are willing to have difficult conversations and be clear when something concerns you and has a structured approach to the work

A day at work that doesn’t always fit in a calendar SSP-arbejde følger ikke nødvendigvis almindelig kontortid.

Would you like to join?

Interviews: We will hold the first interview round on Friday, November 20, and the second interview round on Tuesday, November 24, 2026
