Nørre Vedby School & Kindergarten House is seeking a number of dedicated teachers for our autism department.

We are looking for colleagues for our department for students with autism. We are seeking as of 1/1-27 a number of teachers with experience or interest in the special educational field.

The positions to be filled are permanent full-time positions.

We are looking for

A new teaching colleague, preferably with subject qualifications in Danish, English, Physical Education and preferably German. If you also have teaching competencies in other subjects, we would welcome your application.

You will initially be responsible for teaching primarily at the middle school level.

Your practice reflects our four values: Development, Community, Joy and Diversity, as these are more than just words on paper.

In addition, we hope that you have

• Competencies, experience and interest in the special education field.
• Familiarity with TEACCH and individualized/personalized pedagogy, or curiosity about these approaches. In the autism department, almost all students have been diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or similar.
• The ability to motivate and create meaning for students in teaching contexts.
• The ability to work in teams at multiple levels, and across departments.

The School

Nr. Vedby School & Kindergarten House is home to about 55 staff and 165 happy children from kindergarten to 9th grade - of which about 63 children attend autism classes. In the general part of the school, several classes are age-integrated, where two cohorts are merged. The institution also includes a school after-school program used by about 50 children, and a kindergarten/infant care center housing about 30 children in total. It should also be highlighted that we have a very engaged parent association and board who actively and positively support the school and development in the local area in general.

Nr. Vedby School & Kindergarten House is located in a scenic area on Nordvestfalster, close to the Storstrøm Bridge – both the new and the old one.
