Then you may be the person we are looking for as a sterilisation assistant on night shift at the Shared Sterilisation Center (DFS) at Herlev Hospital.

About the position

We are seeking sterilisation assistants for fixed night shifts in an exciting and high-tech production environment with a focus on quality, production flow and patient safety.

The working hours are 23:00 to 07:00, and your place of work will be the Shared Sterilisation Center at Herlev Hospital, Borgmester Ib Juuls Vej 56, 2730 Herlev.

As a night-shift sterilisation assistant you will be an important part of the production, where you, together with your colleagues, ensure that surgical instruments are reprocessed correctly and are ready for hospital operations.

You must be able to work independently, take responsibility and at the same time contribute to good collaboration across shifts.

As a new employee you will undergo a structured training programme that combines theory and practice. You will be assigned a mentor who ensures a safe and thorough introduction in the first 8 weeks. Thereafter there is an opportunity for ongoing competence development.

The competence development programme includes, among other things

• Reprocessing process, including washing, packaging and sterilisation
• Operation of washing machines and autoclaves
• Introduction to automation, including AGVs and robots
• Microbiology and infection hygiene
• Instrument care, handling and maintenance
• Documentation and traceability via T-DOC
• Documentation of deviations
• Basic understanding of surgical procedures
• Work environment and safety

About you

We are particularly looking for colleagues with a health professional background or experience from quality-controlled production environments.

You may have a background such as

• Dental clinic assistant
• Social and Health Care Assistant or another relevant health profession education
• Operator from the pharmaceutical industry with experience from quality-controlled production

The most important thing is that you are thorough, quality-conscious and eager to learn.

• Have basic IT skills
• Have technical flair and an understanding of automated processes
• Work in a structured way and have good organizational sense
• Understand quality-controlled work processes
• Can work independently and take responsibility for your tasks
• Thrive with night work and collaboration in small teams
• Are stable, flexible and quality-conscious
• Speak and write Danish

About us

The Shared Sterilisation Center consists of two high-tech units, one at Rigshospitalet and one at Herlev Hospital. Together we support the Capital Region’s hospitals with sterile surgical instruments.

We reprocess surgical instruments in close cooperation between manual and automated processes. With advanced robotics, our sterilisation centers are among the most automated in the world.

As a sterilisation assistant you will be an important part of the production, where quality, collaboration and timely deliveries are essential for the hospitals’ operating programmes and patient safety.

Employment terms

Start as soon as possible or by agreement.

Employment is conducted in accordance with one of the agreements below. The starting salary may vary depending on your seniority, experience, education and the geographic location of the workplace.

Agreements

• Agreement for social and health care personnel - 32.03.1
• Agreement for administrative and IT personnel

Positions

• Social and health care helper, social and health care assistant, or social and health care personnel without a basic health education
• Dental clinic assistant

In addition to the starting salary you may have

• Right to allowances under local preliminary agreements.
• Right to special allowances, e.g. for evening, night and weekend work.
• Possibility to negotiate individual allowances depending on the position, your experience and your qualifications.
