About the job

We are looking for two engaged, robust and caring educators, one in a permanent position and one in a maternity leave cover for our special offer, who can help create a safe and developing everyday life for our students.

About the job and the tasks

In Hedensted Municipality, we stand on the child and youth view ”All children and young people do as well as they can – let us together give them the opportunity” . It is developed from an understanding that all children and young people are actors in their own lives and have a need for basic belonging and participation opportunities in diverse communities.

We are part of Hedensted Municipality's special class series for children and young people with socio-emotional difficulties. We place well-being and development high, both academically and personally, and work systemically to understand and support the students' unique challenges in a holistic perspective. From December 1 we have 18 students, with an expectation that we will grow further in the coming years. We are located at Stouby School, a school with about 120 students and we prioritize being a large part of Stouby School to the extent the individual student can manage it.

As an educator you will be an important part of a dedicated team, where we support the students in their daily learning, activities and development. We emphasise an appreciative approach, where you meet the students with respect and understanding and can look behind their behaviour while maintaining a calm nervous system and being curious about your own and others’ positions in challenging situations. One position is a full-time role with start on December 1, 2026 and the maternity leave cover is a full-time role starting February 1, 2027 until August 1, 2027.

Our expectations for you

We expect that you

  • Are educated as an educator.
  • Have a systemic learning approach, where the mindset is that there are many paths to learning and that you can work with the students' needs in a holistic perspective.
  • Have an appreciative approach to children and young people and their challenges.
  • Maintain a calm nervous system, even in stressed situations, and can look behind the students' behaviour.
  • Have experience with or interest in working with children and young people with special needs.
  • Are patient, empathetic and have a good demeanor.
  • Can collaborate with colleagues and parents about the student's well-being and development.
  • Are flexible and can handle a variable workday.

Why you should choose us

We offer

  • A strong and supportive team that collaborates with the rest of Stouby School.
  • A professional and inspiring work environment with room for humor and creativity.
  • Close familiarity with all colleagues and children in your daily life.
  • An engaged staff group across Stouby School, focused on the students' academic, personal and social development.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment according to the applicable collective agreement, with the possibility to negotiate qualification and position pay.

The positions are one permanent full-time position starting December 1, 2026 and a maternity leave cover starting February 1, 2027 to August 1, 2027.

We conduct a child protection background check.
