We are seeking an engaged nurse for a permanent 37-hour week in the Hand Surgery Clinic, Department of Elbow and Bone Surgery, Gentofte Hospital. The position includes weekend on-call every 6th weekend in the department's inpatient ward after completion of the introductory period.

About the position

In the Hand Surgery Clinic you will meet patients with both acute and planned treatment pathways. You will assume a central role in ensuring safe and cohesive patient pathways and will work closely with doctors, therapists and nursing colleagues.

Your tasks will include

• Independent nursing consultations
• Wound care, dressing changes and suture removal
• Casting and re-bandaging
• Telephone advice and guidance
• Information and follow-up in connection with operation and treatment
• Participation in the development of patient pathways and nursing quality

We are looking for someone who

• Is a licensed nurse
• Has an interest in surgical nursing and outpatient patient pathways
• Thrives with independent responsibility and short patient contacts
• Sees interdisciplinary collaboration as a strength
• Preferably has experience from orthopaedic surgery, hand surgery or emergency reception, but this is not a requirement

The most important thing is your motivation to learn the specialty and your wish to create good patient pathways.

To the outpatient clinic there is also attached a Clinical Nurse Specialist and 2 PhD students.

The Department of Orthopaedic and Bone Surgery at Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is a highly specialized department with about 350 staff across two sites.

Hand surgery handles elective, subacute and trauma-related patient pathways. We are a department in constant development, where patient satisfaction, quality, research and interdisciplinary collaboration are central focus areas.
