About the job
Do you want to help shape the future of child and adolescent psychiatry? Region Zealand (Region Hovedstaden) is seeking a student assistant for 15 hours per week to support the digitization of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is undergoing rapid development in these years. We must both provide the best treatment to those who need our help today and tomorrow, and we must adapt to the needs of the future.
We are already working hard to deliver faster assessment and treatment to the many children and families waiting for help, but we want to strengthen our efforts even further by more extensively incorporating digital possibilities into all aspects of our work. You will help us with this.
You are ambitious and want to supplement your studies with work experience in a meaningful and politically relevant field.
About the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center (BUC)
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center (BUC) is Denmark’s largest child and adolescent psychiatry. We provide assessment and treatment of mental disorders in children and adolescents aged 0-17 across the Region Hovedstaden. The level is high and the ambitions even higher.
A child and adolescent psychiatry in the signs of change and reform
The entire healthcare sector is undergoing a major transformation with the newly adopted healthcare structure reform. Here, the development of digital treatment modalities is an important tool to help even more children, youths and families – and to ensure that everyone has equal access to the necessary support and treatment.
Your task – digitalization with impact
We are implementing a new digitization strategy that shall
- Ensure access to new tools and functionality for digital screening, monitoring and decision support to make assessment processes more efficient
- Strengthen patient satisfaction through flexible and holistic digital solutions for guidance and treatment
- Create a cultural change where digital perspectives are included in all strategic decisions
- Reduce time spent on documentation work using ambient scribe solutions
- Ensure access to relevant competence development in connection with increased use of AI in the clinic
- Create flow in patient pathways by addressing legal and technical barriers to arranging smooth processes
- Strengthen collaboration between research and clinical practice so digital solutions of high quality with documented effect are scaled faster to the clinic.
You will play a central role in translating the strategy into practice – close to the clinic and with a view to both technology and people. For us, digitization is not an end in itself, but one of several tools that should contribute to BUC being able to offer better and faster help to families.
It is therefore essential to view the task as a general transformation of the way we work.
The position is 15 hours per week distributed over two to three weekly working days, and the work is planned with flexibility from both parties to balance study and work.
The student assistant's primary task will be to support the program manager and the program coordinator with task execution.
We manage a portfolio of digital projects with a range of issues of legal, technical and practical nature. Our new colleague must be proactive and versatile and can be deployed in diverse tasks as needed.
The tasks are assembled in dialogue and according to your competences and interests and may, for example, include to:
- support clinicians in implementing new digital offerings such as online parent groups and gather experiences from pilot trials
- develop study designs to ensure patients' voices in shaping the digitization program in collaboration with the youth mentorship unit
- prepare presentations for various stakeholder groups as well as decision briefs for management
- assess the status of the project portfolio including risk assessment
- establish collaborations with regional and external actors regarding competence development within the AI field
We are looking for
- Bachelor students in relevant education (e.g., Health Informatics, anthropology with a health technology focus, Cand.it, Cand.scient in Data Science or IT, Cand.merc.it, Cand.scient.pol, Cand.merc.pol)
- Interest in digital development in the health care system
- Interest in organizational development and project management
- Interest in internal processes and workflows in an operational organization
- Strong collaboration skills and enthusiasm for networking and leadership
We offer
Employment in BUC’s quality team consisting of 12 people with clinical and social science backgrounds, who support the clinic with everything from patient and staff safety, data, occupational health and general project management.
We have offices on the Glostrup campus on Nordstjernevej where there are also both outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. Here, there is room to breathe, good mood, structured professional sparring and ambitions to deliver quickly and with high quality.
You get
- A unique opportunity to work with future-proofing of child and adolescent psychiatry
- A dynamic and interdisciplinary environment with strong support for digital innovation
- Opportunity to work with new exciting solutions, including AI tools and digital treatment.
