About the job

Do you thrive in a strong professional environment where you are challenged? Then choose a career in the Competition and Consumer Authority. We work for well-functioning markets that create growth and high consumer welfare. We are about 280 engaged colleagues, who, like you, are passionate about making a difference.

Center for Retail, Industry, Food, Agriculture and Health (DIPS) is seeking a skilled economics student who, in collaboration with experienced colleagues, will work for better competition in Denmark.

WORK TASKS

DIPS is responsible for all tasks in the competition area related to retail, industry, food, agriculture and health. We work to strengthen growth and competition within the centre's sectors. This includes, among other things, enforcement of competition rules, market monitoring and analyses of competition in the mentioned sectors.

We are looking for a capable student assistant who wants to work with an area that has direct impact for consumers, businesses and society.

As a student you will especially be involved with the following tasks

  • Assist with market research, for example questionnaire surveys,
  • Data processing, including calculations and figure setup,
  • Research, including literature search,
  • Carry out light case processing, including records access tasks and consultations in connection with proposed legislation,
  • Prepare notes and presentations, and
  • Perform ad hoc office tasks

You will undertake the tasks in collaboration with the centre's other student assistants and staff.

The expected working hours will be 15-20 hours per week with the possibility of study leave before exams.

YOU

You are well under way with an economics education (e.g., stud.polit., stud.oecon., stud.oecon.agro., stud.scient.pol., stud.merc. or similar). In addition, we especially place emphasis on that you:

  • Have solid experience with using Excel,
  • Have an interest in industrial economics,
  • Have good written communication skills,
  • Are analytically strong,
  • Take responsibility and are flexible,
  • Are outgoing and good at taking initiative and proactively seeking work.

You are efficient and enjoy having many balls in the air. You are structured, take initiative and work independently, but also love being part of a well-functioning team. You are curious, results-oriented and enjoy working in a professionally challenging environment. You like to be a problem-solver, e.g. in relation to data processing, but also have a sense for the bigger picture. We have a good social environment, so it is an advantage if you are outgoing and a team player.

Experience from similar jobs is an advantage, but not a requirement.

WE

We work for well-functioning markets throughout society. Our tasks are demanding and complex, and your efforts will have an impact on both large and small businesses and the individual consumer. We are a total of 12 employees in the centre, consisting of a mix of economists and lawyers. The work takes place at a fast pace with a high degree of independence and initiative. We have a good social environment in the centre with an informal tone, where we communicate directly and openly.
