About the job

Are you a student in audiology or logopaedics, and would you like to translate your professional knowledge into practice and make a difference for schoolchildren with language difficulties?

In Dragør Municipality we are seeking an engaged student assistant who is pursuing the master's degree in audiology or logopaedics and who wants to become part of our PPR.

You will be attached to our speech-language pathologist and will mainly work with schoolchildren who need support for their language development and communication. We are particularly interested in you who have knowledge of or wish to delve into DLD (Developmental Language Disorder) and the language difficulties that can affect children's learning, participation and well-being at school.

You will be part of an interdisciplinary team with psychologists, speech-language pathologist, physiotherapist, inclusion consultants and support pedagogues. We work closely with the schools to create participation opportunities for all children through practice-oriented and preventive interventions.

The position is 12-15 hours per week with start on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Working hours will be organized as flexibly as possible considering your studies.

Your tasks

You will be part of the speech-language pathology work in PPR and will among other things work with:

  • Planning and implementation of language training and teaching programs for schoolchildren.
  • Conduct testing of children and prepare language assessments.
  • Participate in open advisory / resource team meetings at the schools.
  • Preparation of language exercises, training materials and visual support materials.
  • Work on language comprehension, articulation, vocabulary, grammar and other linguistic areas based on the children’s needs.
  • Contribute to interventions for children with DLD or other language difficulties.
  • Collaborate with the speech-language pathologist and school staff to support children’s language development and participation in teaching.
  • Practical and administrative support of the speech-language pathologist's work.

You will receive ongoing professional sparring and supervision from the municipality's speech-language pathologist. Tasks will be planned based on your competencies and experiences, and you will have the opportunity to gradually develop your skills in practice.

We imagine that you

  • Are a student on the master's program in audiology or logopaedics.
  • Have an interest in children's language, speech and communication development.
  • Would preferably have knowledge of or interest in DLD and the consequences language difficulties can have for schoolchildren’s learning and participation.
  • Would like to work hands-on with children and translate professional knowledge into concrete actions.
  • Work independently, take responsibility and be good at building relationships with children.
  • Thrive in cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Have good communication and written skills.

It is advantageous if you have experience from internships or student jobs with children, but it is not required.

We offer

With us you get the opportunity to translate your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain experience with the municipal speech-language pathology work.

We offer

  • A professionally developing student job with concrete tasks within children’s language development.
  • A thorough introductory program with the municipality's speech-language pathologist in the first month, where you will be introduced to the tasks, methods and the children you will be working with.
  • Close professional sparring and ongoing supervision with the municipality's speech-language pathologist.
  • Opportunity to work with children with different language difficulties, including DLD.
  • Insight into the collaboration between PPR and the schools’ pedagogical staff.
  • An interdisciplinary environment where we work together to create good learning and participation opportunities for children.
