Student assistant with IT flair for engineering and support – Esbjerg

SITE-SECURITY A/S delivers mobile video surveillance to construction sites and critical infrastructure across Denmark. Out in the field our master units stand and take care of themselves – until they don’t. A modem that loses its connection, a camera that stops sending video, a device where the power supply begins to behave strangely.

It is our support center that detects it. Here we monitor that the entire fleet is online, that the systems run as they should, and that faults are caught and handled before they become a problem for the customer.

We have moved into a new premises at Edison Park 2 in Esbjerg, where support center, workshop, production and administration are under one roof. That means short distances: if you notice a fault on the screen, the technician who needs to fix it is typically just a few metres away.

We are busy, and therefore we are looking for a student assistant for afternoons and weekends.

Your tasks

• System monitoring: you keep an eye on that devices, cameras and connections are online and running as they should
• Operations control: you perform regular checks of the fleet – connection, image, power and status – and detect deviations
• Handling of alarms and fault reports: assess, document and act according to our procedures
• First fault finding on networks and devices, before a case is escalated
• Creation and follow-up on cases, so nothing falls between two stools
• Coordination with technicians and colleagues when something requires a physical visit
• Documentation and reporting of operational status
• Diverse administrative tasks related to operations

You will receive thorough training in our systems and procedures, and you will never be alone with a decision – there is always an experienced colleague to lean on.

We imagine that you

• Are pursuing a higher education – preferably in IT, computer science, electronics or similar – and have at least 1 year remaining
• Understand basic networking: IP addresses, subnet, gateway, DNS, DHCP and what a port actually does
• Can navigate Windows, and would also enjoy having dabbled a bit with Linux, command line or a Raspberry Pi
• Are thorough and systematic – in operational monitoring it is the details that reveal the fault
• Can maintain an overview when several things happen at once
• Are dependable and show up for the shifts you are assigned
• Speak Danish or English – our daily language is Danish, but we welcome skilled English speakers and will switch to English when it makes sense

If you have experience or find it easy to get up to speed with networks, VPN, video management systems (VMS), IP cameras, alarm systems or surveillance tools, that is a definite advantage. But we do not expect you to know it all – we expect you to want to learn it.

Since the work takes place in our support center, the position requires a clean criminal record.
