About the job

Would you contribute to ensuring that Danish products do not end up in the wrong hands? Are you analytical and attentive to even the smallest details? Would you like to learn more about intelligence work while sharpening your analytical skills? Then you may be our new student assistants!

We offer an important role as a student assistant in the Counter-espionage Division's Center for Counter-Proliferation. You will join the centre's team for export control and investment screening, which supports the national effort in the area of intelligence assessments. As a student assistant, you will be tasked with contributing to casework in connection with the export of the most critical dual-use products from Danish companies. You will also contribute to the work of screening and assessing foreign direct investments in critical technology and critical infrastructure.

The team works closely with the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) on its operational efforts against illicit procurement activities linked to especially Russia and, in addition, has interfaces with several areas of PET, including the China area.

In the job you will have the opportunity to develop yourself within the field of intelligence and also sharpen your analytical skills. You will gain a unique insight into PET's work to counter illegal transfer of technology and knowledge and to cut Russia off from components that contribute to the country's military capacity-building. Finally, you will become part of a team where we become better together and share the tasks and goals.

We offer you a range of exciting tasks within the framework of export control, investment screening and illicit procurement activities. Specifically, you will among other things:

  • Contribute to case processing and assessments of consultations in connection with export control, investment screening and other consultation tasks
  • Help to improve data quality in connection with, for example, the export control task
  • Help to maintain the threat picture in connection with certain foreign direct investments
  • Collaborate with operational teams on prioritized areas, including contributing to the operational analysis

Center for Counter-Proliferation is a cross-cutting centre under PET’s Counter-Espionage Department. The centre handles PET’s efforts against Russian procurement activities, spread of weapons of mass destruction, sanctions evasion and threats associated with certain foreign direct investments.

Experience a everyday life that never becomes everyday

As an employee at PET you become part of a daily life characterized by tasks that do not exist elsewhere, and every day brings new challenges not present yesterday. We are very different, and therefore we can make a difference. It’s about who you are and what you contribute.
