Syddjurs seeks a financial consultant for the central finance function

With employment in Budget and Management you will have a truly unique role centrally in the organization, close to the municipality's top management. You will have a very broad collaborative interface across the organization, but are at the same time firmly anchored in a community consisting of engaged, skilled, and helpful colleagues.

The job is for you who thrive in a daily life with tasks tied to the municipality's annual cycle for budget planning and budget follow-up, and where you are also motivated by coordination and analysis tasks across the municipality. The aim of these tasks is to support our top management in keeping the municipality's financial course and to help decentralized managers make good data-informed decisions in daily operations.

About the position

As a starting point, the main tasks in the position will be to support the three areas “Mobility and Area Management”, “Environment” and “Nature and Watercourses” with budget planning and financial follow-up. You will play a central role in continuing and developing these tasks.

You will be involved in challenging operational and development tasks within the subject areas. One task will be to help implement a new governance model for Area Management . As a financial consultant you will have a very central role in implementing the model.

Another task is calculations of a number of prices in the area, e.g. tariffs for waste inspection and environmental inspection. These are tasks that require great professional insight and attention to detail. At the same time, we see potential for continued development and optimization of the task solution, and we therefore expect you to actively contribute to finding new and more efficient ways to solve the tasks.

In addition to the tasks related to the three areas, you will also be involved in cross-cutting coordination and analysis tasks.

In Budget and Management we continuously adjust the task portfolio among the employees, which provides good opportunities to influence the content of the position and gradually take responsibility for new areas and cross-cutting development tasks in line with your interests and competences.

As a financial consultant in Syddjurs Municipality you can expect the following tasks

• Responsible for budget planning tasks (budget assumptions, analyses, laws and circulars, etc.)
• Contribute to budget follow-up tasks through dialogue with managers, heads and the director as well as key staff in the secretariats
• Preparation of political cases with financial content and contribute to qualifying the financial content in committee cases
• Help colleagues in other areas with tasks related to budget planning and budget follow-up
• Cross-cutting analysis and development tasks
• Sparring on economy and governance with managers and leaders
• Operational tasks related to master data and financial management
• Contribute to leadership information in collaboration with the areas and data experts

The workplace is primarily in Ebeltoft, but there will be workdays in Hornslet and the possibility of home working to a certain extent.

Employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with applicable collective agreement and the principles for new pay.

The position is based in the administration in Ebeltoft, but our many contact surfaces in the organization mean that there can be workdays in the municipal administration in Hornslet.

You have the opportunity to organize flexible working hours.

Budget and Management consists of 14 employees and is anchored in the municipality's shared Support with a total of 85 employees.

In addition to financial governance, the Support also works with the classic staff functions, such as IT and Digitization, HR and Payroll, communications to leaders and employees, Finance, Procurement and Purchasing.

Start date expected 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible.

First interview will be held Monday 30 November 2026 at the town hall in Ebeltoft (Lundbergsvej 2, 8400 Ebeltoft).

Second interview will be held Friday 4 December 2026 in the administration building in Hornslet (Tingvej 17, 8543 Hornslet).
