If psychiatric nursing is your dream field, you now have the chance to apply to a department in development with a focus on professionalism.

We are looking for a nurse with psychiatric experience or with an interest in the psychiatric specialty. If you are newly qualified, we have a special intro program and you can be shift-free for the first months and with a special mentor program. We are a ward where patient safety, professional development, team collaboration, and personal competencies are put to use for a good work environment.

The position can commence from 1.1 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The positions are with rotating shifts, 2-shift system as well as weekend shifts either every 2nd or 3rd weekend. You of course have influence on your duty schedule so there is a balance between private and work life.

About the Psychiatric Department Aabenraa

The department consists of a Psychiatric Emergency Department, which receives patients on a 24-hour basis. In addition, there are 95 beds distributed across geriatric psychiatric ward and 5 general psychiatric wards. The distribution of patients is geographically determined.

In Haderslev, Sønderborg, Tønder and Åbenrå lie the department’s outpatient units. Furthermore, there is an elderly ambulatory clinic, a clinic for suicide prevention, OPUS and an Oligophrenia team.

We work targeted at preventing coercive measures and minimizing belt restraints. This is done among other things through the implementation of the methods ‘Safewards’ and ‘Trauma Informed Approach’. In addition, we work with special measures regarding handling self-harming behavior.

The department’s care and treatment basis is relational therapy.

Salary and collective agreement

The region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension in Sundhedskartellet - overenskomst 32.17.1 - løn pr. 1.4.2026 . In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
