Gastroenterology outpatient clinic, Vejle Hospital seeks a nurse

As a nurse in gastroenterology you follow patients from their first day in the outpatient clinic, where the diagnosis is established, and through their further course as chronic patients. About the Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic

The Gastroenterology Outpatient Clinic is part of the Medical Outpatient Clinic at Vejle Hospital. It is a smaller, specialized area where we combine clinical expertise with research and teaching within gastroenterology. You will become part of a well-functioning outpatient clinic that works side by side with other specialties. Among other things, we collaborate with the rheumatology outpatient clinic on a shared infusion room, where several of our treatments can be performed in parallel and require the same observations.

As part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of nurses, doctors, social worker and secretaries we share knowledge, prioritize professional sparring and work for a good working environment. The work is based on independence, close interdisciplinary collaboration and a common focus on professional quality and security in every contact with patients and relatives.

Professionalism and competence development in focus

As a nurse in the gastroenterology outpatient clinic you work in an exciting and highly specialized area with complex, chronic patient pathways. You develop a specialized profile, where clinical assessment and relational nursing are integrated.

Your main responsibilities include

• Planning, coordination and execution of diagnostic pathways, so patients experience security and coherence
• Supportive and caring nursing with a focus on information, presence and involvement of both patients and relatives
• Independent patient checks with teaching and guidance
• Telephone consultations, where presence, advice and patient care are in focus
• Administration of medical treatment in the infusion room
• Care of patients in the scope room, including gastroscopies and colonoscopies.

Your nursing is central to the patient’s experience of their course in the gastroenterology outpatient clinic. You help ensure that the patient feels safe and well informed, guided and supported.

The position entails function in a medical ward or AVA with two shifts on weekdays per month and work every 4th weekend. Here you will provide nursing care to hospitalized medical patients and become part of a strong collegial community where we prioritize collaboration, sparring and a good working environment. You work closely with both nurses, doctors and other professions in daily care and treatment, where emphasis is placed on helping each other and lifting tasks together.

The position gives you the opportunity to combine specialized nursing with broad medical nursing in a daily life characterized by variation, professional development and a strong collegial community within and across both departments.

In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
