About the job

With us you become part of a team of dedicated and professionally skilled colleagues. We have a focus on ongoing competence development and work according to the conceptual framework Fundamentals of Care, where the patient's needs, the relationship, and the fundamental nursing care are in focus.

In our ward we have room for 18 inpatients, who have both acute and chronic pulmonary and infectious medical diseases. Patient pathways are often complex and range from shorter hospital stays to longer courses with chronic disease. The department also has a special function in relation to palliation and palliative pathways.

Our daily work consists of both basic nursing tasks and specialized nursing for patients with complex issues. We work purposefully to create overview in the patient pathways and to ensure coherence in care and treatment.

We are an education department and usually have nursing students attached. This means that guidance, reflection and professional discussions are a natural part of our everyday life.

We prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration highly and perform daily ward rounds together with the doctors. Nursing observations and assessments are given great weight and form an important part of the decision basis.

Every day we hold FBA – professionally grounded division of tasks, where we together ensure an appropriate distribution of tasks and at the same time speak nursing to strengthen our common professional language.

We have advanced beds in the emergency department, where you in time – when you are confident in the specialty – can have the opportunity to work shifts.

We continuously work to meet patients' needs with high professionalism and openness, while taking care of each other and strengthening solidarity.

Our ambition is that all patients should feel Seen & Heard. Therefore we work with Fundamentals of Care, interdisciplinary ward rounds and a person-centered approach, where the patient’s needs, wishes and goals for the course are in focus.

At the same time we are in the middle of an exciting development. When the North Zealand University Hospital is completed, the department will move to Hillerød. Here we will be organized in a pulmonary medical and an infectious medical bed department, which creates good opportunities for professional development and specialization.
