About the job
About the job
We are looking for a nurse who believes that good nursing is about more than clinical observations and medication management.
We are looking for you who can see the person before the diagnosis. You who understand that quality of life and joy of life are not the “extra” – but the very core of our work.
With us nursing is a natural and integrated part of everyday life in the nursing home. We work from the common professional foundation, where the health care effort goes hand in hand with residents’ wishes, hopes and everyday life. Our task is not only to treat and prevent – but to create security, meaning and dignity.
The position is 37 hours, primarily a late shift every week, 11-19, and work 7-15 every 4th weekend. Where every 7th weekend you join as district nurse in MidtVest.
Candidate profile
- You take responsibility. Not only for your own tasks, but for the whole.
- You lead – not loudly, but calmly and professionally well founded.
- You are a role model in practice. Someone who works systematically, reflective and with a focus on quality.
- You have a calm personality and the ability to maintain overview – even when cases are complex, and days do not always go as planned.
- You see opportunities rather than limits.
- You think: What can we do? rather than what can’t we?
- You are a team player. For you know that strong nursing is created in the community – in the cross-disciplinary collaboration with social and health care assistants, aides, therapists, doctors and management.
And most importantly
- You can – and will – see the whole person. Even when it requires time, presence and relation.
As a role model there are areas of responsibility
- Clinical assessment and ongoing follow-up of residents’ somatic and cognitive state
- Medication management and quality assurance
- Coordination and follow-up in collaboration with general practitioners
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with relevant specialist teams e.g. dementia coordinator, brain team, acute team and so on
- Guiding and professional sparring to SSA/SSH and other colleagues
- Involvement and dialogue with relatives
Why you should choose us
We work from the common professional basis for nurses in nursing homes, where nursing includes to:
- Have an overview of residents’ health status and respond to changes
- Plan, coordinate and evaluate efforts based on what is important for the individual
- Support prevention, health promotion and dignified processes
- Create security – even in the last time
- We believe that high professionalism and humane warmth are not opposites – but prerequisites for each other.
For us, quality of life means something.
We see strength in our citizens experiencing joy of life in everyday life.
That they can participate in meaningful activities.
That they feel seen, heard and respected.
Nursing should support the life that is lived – not take over it.
About the department
We offer
- A professionally strong and engaged community
- A workplace where responsibility and influence go hand in hand
- Room for reflection and development
- A everyday life with both complexity and presence
- The possibility to make a real difference – every day
We expect that our residents receive the optimally best and loving care and nursing at a high professional level, and that staff have a good collegial atmosphere and high spirits.
Residents should live the good everyday life, and as a nurse you should have a preventive and health-promoting view of the residents, where we work to maintain residents’ functional abilities.
In the application, please answer the following cases
- Describe a situation where you have seen the person before the diagnosis – and what it meant for the citizen.
- How do you concretely work to create quality of life and security in everyday life for residents with complex needs?
