About the job

Do you want to help strengthen cybersecurity at a university of applied sciences where IT supports education, research and professional practice every day?

In Team IT we are expanding the team with a system administrator, who will have cybersecurity as its primary focus area. You will be part of a strong technical environment, where you will work closely with other system administrators, IT architects and security resources. Together you will work to protect Absalon's IT platforms, data and digital services.

The position is newly created, and you therefore get a unique opportunity to influence both work methods and priorities. We are looking for a profile who can think strategically, but primarily translate plans into concrete implementations. You must be able to drive security initiatives from idea to operation, while you actively participate in the technical work yourself.

Your profile

We imagine that you have experience as a system administrator, infrastructure specialist, security consultant or similar and want to work even more targeted with cybersecurity.

You are curious about new threats and technologies, and you thrive with translating security requirements into practical solutions that make a real difference. At the same time you have the ability to create momentum and follow up on tasks, even when several stakeholders and subject areas are involved.

We particularly value that you

  • Have experience with operation and administration of modern IT platforms.
  • Have experience with cybersecurity and technical security solutions.
  • Have worked with or have extensive knowledge of the CIS18 controls
  • Have knowledge of the state's minimum technical requirements for IT security.
  • Have experience with Microsoft’s security platform, including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Entra ID and related security products.
  • Work structured with documentation, follow-up and implementation.
  • Thrive collaborating broadly in the organization.
  • Preferably have experience driving implementation projects as project manager, technical lead or equivalent.

Your tasks

The position is new, and the tasks will develop in line with both the threat landscape and the organization's needs. You will play a central role in strengthening Absalon's cybersecurity and will among other things work with:

  • Implementation and operation of technical security solutions across Absalon's IT environment.
  • Planning and execution of security improvements based on the CIS18 controls and the state's minimum technical requirements.
  • Implementation of security features in the Microsoft platform, including Microsoft Defender, Sentinel and Entra ID.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, following up and remedying security incidents and risks.
  • Hardening of servers, clients, identity solutions and cloud services.
  • Participation in vulnerability management, patch management and technical security assessments.
  • Execution of technical controls and follow-up on identified improvement areas.
  • Project management or technical coordination of security projects and implementation courses.
  • Collaboration with other system administrators on design, implementation and operation of secure solutions.
  • Contributing to documentation, standardization and further development of Absalon’s security level.

You will become part of a team where collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development are a natural part of the daily work. We do not expect you to know all technologies in advance, but we do expect that you have the desire and ability to continuously develop yourself in an area that is constantly changing.

Your colleagues

In Digital we are 27 employees distributed over three teams, who are passionate about creating good digital solutions for the whole of Absalon. We have a broad catalog of services and competencies in user support, networks, system development, project management, didactics, learning technologies, digitalization, reporting, analyses and more.

We strive to be service-minded and competent partners in everything we do. We have an informal style and our sense of humor is well developed. We enjoy cake, but we also have a healthy and varied canteen arrangement and the opportunity to exercise in our fitness room or simply on the many stairs on campus. We are located at Absalon’s new campus right next to Slagelse station, and you will have one of Slagelse’s best views from your desk.

The position belongs to Team IT, whose primary areas of responsibility are server and network operations, device management, cybersecurity, support, integrations, information security, etc.
