About the job

Do you want to be close to servers and applications and use monitoring and scripting to ensure that operational problems are detected and handled early?

As an application specialist you will be responsible for developing our server- and application monitoring. You work with Windows- and Linux environments, applications, scripts and automated workflows and make technical measurements tangible value in daily operations.

Become part of a technical environment focused on stable servers and applications

You will become part of a professional environment that works with networks, systems, servers and OT infrastructure. With us you’ll meet a team that prioritizes collaboration, professional sparring and continuous improvements, and where you have the opportunity to contribute to both solutions and ways of working. The entire team in OT Risk and Compliance, currently 13 dedicated colleagues, is based in Fredericia.

You make servers and applications easier to monitor and operate

Your professional core is servers and applications. You will develop how we monitor operating systems, services and applications, and you will use scripting and automation to make operations more proactive and consistent. You will work closely with network-, system- and server teams, but your primary angle is what happens on the servers and in the applications. Your main tasks are to:

  • drive, maintain and optimize platforms for server-, system- and application monitoring
  • expand the monitoring of Windows- and Linux environments as well as applications so faults and performance problems are visible early
  • develop scripts for monitoring, configuration and automation of recurring operational tasks
  • improve integrations to incident- and event management so relevant alerts reach the right operational processes
  • work with performance and capacity data and document the solutions in runbooks and procedures.

You will become part of Energinet Eltransmission A/S, which has the task of developing, building, owning and operating the necessary electricity transmission network. It is then made available to society with the right capacity, in the right quality, as cost-effectively as possible and so that the facility can be used optimally and safely. Eltransmission ensures optimal Asset Management by focusing on the overall lifetime of the installations - from cradle to grave.

We see diversity as a strength and encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of background, to apply for the job. We actively and purposefully work with diversity in Energinet and therefore encourage you to omit a picture, information about age, civil status and the like, to minimize unconscious biases in the process. You can read more about our diversity policy here.

The job also requires you to obtain and maintain security clearance. On the PET website you can read more about security clearance.

Special conditions: As Energinet handles society-critical tasks, we perform background checks prior to employment. It is a condition of employment that your background check is compatible with employment at Energinet. The background check is also conducted once a year.

Do you want to help make a difference with us?

We look forward to receiving your motivated CV no later than 11 November 2026. Put a couple of cautious Xs in your calendar now. We expect to hold 1st interview online on 16 and 17 November and 2nd interview in Fredericia on 24 November.

If you are curious about your future manager, or have questions about the job, you can read more on LinkedIn or contact Manager, Kenneth Eckstrøm at tel. +45 2333 8984.

It is advantageous if you also have experience with log analysis, performance optimization, capacity planning or container- and virtualization environments. Relevant certifications in monitoring or IT service management are also an advantage.

  • solid knowledge of Windows- and Linux environments and experience with monitoring servers and applications
  • the ability to develop scripts and automation in e.g. PowerShell or Python
  • understanding of APIs, standard protocols and principles of event management
  • experience with integrations to IT service management and incident- or event-handling
  • a structured and proactive approach to your tasks, taking responsibility and sharing your knowledge with colleagues across disciplines.

You combine server understanding with scripting and automation

We imagine you have several years of experience with server operation, system administration, application operation or monitoring. You should be able to understand what happens at the server and application level, and translate that understanding into monitoring, scripting and automated solutions. In addition you have:

After the first year you will have elevated the monitoring of servers and applications

In the first 6-12 months you will have built solid knowledge of our server environments, applications, platforms and collaboration interfaces. You will have improved the monitoring of Windows- and Linux environments and applications, translated concrete operation needs into scripts and automated workflows and contributed with usable documentation. At the same time you will have established a close collaboration with the technical teams around you.

“You will have significant influence on how we develop monitoring and automation in our server environments. We succeed when we share knowledge and together make operations more robust, manageable and efficient,” says Manager Kenneth Eckstrøm.
