Technician with a practical sense and technical curiosity

Are you a technician with a genuine interest in technical systems and the ability to take ownership of your tasks? Then we have the position for you.

We are looking for a technician with a relevant background for a permanent full-time position in Building Services SUND at Aarhus University. The position is intended to be filled on 1 November 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. However, we are happy to wait for the right candidate. You will report directly to the department's operations manager and become part of our strong team of technicians.

ABOUT US

Building Services SUND is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the faculty's diverse building stock – from research laboratories and clinics to teaching facilities, animal houses and industrial plants. We work daily with complex technical installations, including large ventilation systems, cooling systems, CTS controls as well as gas and water treatment.

Our team consists of technicians with different professional backgrounds, as well as a cross-functional staff consisting of project managers, energy and technical managers, and administrative employees.

YOUR TASKS

Your work tasks span a wide range – from technical system control to hands-on tasks in the buildings:

On the technical side

• Troubleshooting on technical plants and systems, motors, dampers and other technical components such as frequency converters and similar.
• Reading and working with wiring diagrams and technical drawings.
• Seeking information in manuals and documentation
• Carrying out operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, cooling and water treatment plants
• Operating and optimising CTS systems (we use Schneider, but experience with other systems is also relevant)

On the practical side

• Round the buildings and talk to users about their needs and challenges
• Go out to technical rooms to assess how systems function in reality.
• Make hands-on adjustments and changes – look at the CTS, make a change, go out and check the result
• Solve practical tasks as needs arise together with your colleagues – you are not too fine to get things to work.
• Contribute to keeping order in technical rooms and work areas

In addition you will

• Use Dalux for task management (you will learn the system as part of the job)
• Collaborate with colleagues, users and external suppliers
• Contribute to the ongoing optimisation of our technical infrastructure

YOUR PROFILE

You fit into our team if you

• Have a relevant background – perhaps you have gained technical skills through previous work or personal interests. The important thing is that you have technical understanding and interest.
• Can communicate in Danish – both verbally and in writing. You must be able to operate in English in daily work situations, but it is not a requirement to be a world champion.
• Have a service mindset – you want to help and find solutions.
• Take ownership – you take responsibility for your tasks and get them finished.
• Have prioritisation ability – you can distinguish between what is urgent and what can wait.
• Have a practical approach – you are hands-on and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
• Are curious – you want to understand how systems work.
