A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Siemens Energy as a Technical Project Manager and lead the technical execution of a large-scale high-voltage substation project: a 400 kV AC substation with GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear), Control & Protection systems, SCADA, telecommunications and auxiliary systems, which will connect future offshore wind.
As the technical authority in the project organization, you report to the overall project manager and coordinate all technical disciplines on the Danish part of this flagship infrastructure project in Denmark, which runs until 2034. From design through installation and commissioning, you represent the technical side in meetings with the customer and a large international project organization, making a significant impact on the future of power transmission and the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Leading the technical execution of a complex high-voltage substation project from design through installation and commissioning
- Coordinating a multidisciplinary team of 7-10 discipline leads, scope managers and engineering specialists, and ensuring each discipline delivers its commitments on time and to the required quality
- Driving technical planning and engineering schedules with a clear work breakdown, critical path and intermediate milestones, aligning interfaces and dependencies between work packages and monitoring progress against schedules and budgets
- Acting as the primary escalation point for technical challenges, managing technical risks and mitigation plans, and presenting technical solutions to the customer side by side with the overall project manager
- Participating in customer meetings and technical workshops, and collaborating closely with project management, site management, procurement, construction and commissioning teams
- Ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, employer requirements and contractual technical obligations, leading requirement management and traceability, and supporting design reviews
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams and coordinating engineering disciplines within power transmission, substations or large infrastructure projects, for example as a technical project manager or senior technical lead
- Strong understanding of high-voltage substations, especially GIS and Control and Protection systems, as well as AIS, SCADA, communication and auxiliary systems
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards, specifications and requirement management, and experience working directly with customers, contractors and external stakeholders
- A structured, proactive and results-oriented leader who is confident in large customer-facing meetings and technical negotiations, and builds strong relationships across disciplines and organizations
- Fluent English, Danish is considered an advantage
