About the job

The Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Mathematical Sciences, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Time Series Analysis and Econometrics. The position offers an exciting opportunity to develop an independent research profile within a vibrant and growing research environment while contributing to education and interdisciplinary collaborations. The position is full-time (37 hours per week) and is available from 1 January 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is located at Aalborg University's campus in Aalborg, Denmark.

Your work tasks

As tenure-track assistant professor, you will contribute to the continued development of research and teaching within Time Series Analysis and Econometrics. You are expected to establish and develop an independent research agenda within one or more areas of relevance to the group, such as nonparametric estimation, machine learning methods in econometrics and time series analysis, statistics for high-dimensional data, stochastic volatility models, or time series modelling in continuous and discrete time.

You will actively contribute to the group's research activities and collaborate with colleagues within the department as well as with national and international research partners. You will disseminate your research through high-quality publications and presentations and are expected to contribute to applications for external research funding.

Teaching responsibilities include planning and delivering teaching and supervision in statistics, econometrics, time series analysis, and related areas at bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. You will contribute to the continued development of relevant courses and degree programmes and participate in examination and other academic duties. The position may also involve collaboration with public-sector organizations and private companies on research, teaching, and knowledge exchange.

Your Competencies

We are looking for a researcher with a strong academic profile and clear potential to develop into an internationally recognized scholar in Time Series Analysis and Econometrics. You have a solid methodological foundation and a research agenda that complements or expands the group's existing activities. You are motivated to develop high-quality teaching and supervision and can communicate complex material clearly to students with different academic backgrounds.

You work independently and take responsibility for developing your research, while also valuing collaboration and contributing constructively to a collegial research environment.
