About the job

Copenhagen must be a CO2-neutral and green big city that protects the good Copenhagen life. We will, among other things, create safe urban neighborhoods with meeting places and green urban life streets in close cooperation with Copenhageners. You can help make this a reality.

About the job

You will become part of the Building Renewal Unit in the Climate, Environment and Technical Administration.

We administer several different pools that can be applied for by Copenhageners. Pools that are intended to ensure that we can create a coherent and diverse city, where housing standards are raised, energy consumption is reduced, and the urban space can be made greener.

Your work will primarily be linked to initiating and running a new pool to support citizen-driven wishes for green urban life streets. The pool runs from 2027-2030. In addition, you may participate in selected development projects and possibly participate in cross-department project groups aimed at urban development projects with close citizen involvement.

Key tasks in the position

  • Communication and guidance about the pool to support citizen-driven wishes for green urban life streets, including hosting workshops with citizen groups on the design of their urban life street
  • Processing applications to the pool and ensuring formalities regarding grant allocation
  • Prepare political recommendations for the implementation of support for concrete projects
  • Coordinate with other authorities regarding applicants’ obtaining various permits
  • Coordinating project management between involved units
  • Communicating applicants’ interests to consultants, authorities and politicians
  • Evaluation and reporting as well as possible handover to municipal operation

About you

We are looking for a project manager who can join a team of employees with high professional standards and strong engagement. We expect you to be development-oriented, self-starting, and have a good eye for the potentials in the concrete street sections beyond being able to handle the citizen-involvement tasks in the administration of the pool.

You must be outgoing and able to collaborate across the internal university but also externally with Copenhageners, applicants and the technical advisors linked to the urban life street projects.

As a project manager you will act as a mediator between the administration, citizens and politicians and must be able to represent all parties’ interests in the best possible way. You must also be a good colleague with strong social skills and be willing to help with the unit’s other projects when needed.

Your qualifications

  • Landscape architect, urban planner, architect, TEK SAM or similar with relevant experience in implementing street-space projects, green initiatives and citizen-driven processes
  • Experience with or knowledge of road regulations and design of roads and urban spaces
  • Experience with or interest in project management and case processing
  • Experience with cross-disciplinary co-creation processes and citizen involvement
  • Development- and process-oriented and keen to create the framework for the good Copenhagen life

Experience from or knowledge about working in a municipality or other politically governed organization is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We can offer you

You get a varied job in an exciting organization with good colleagues. You will have a great influence on planning your own work with strong managerial support and collegial sparring.

You will become part of the unit Building Renewal in the Mobility, Climate Adaptation and City Maintenance Department under the Climate, Environment and Technical Administration.

Salary and employment terms

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement depending on your qualifications and after negotiation with the negotiating organization.

This is a fixed-term position of three years. The average weekly working time is 37 hours including lunch break. Workplace is Islands Brygge 37, 2300 Copenhagen S.

The position is intended to be filled on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible.

More information

If you have questions, you are welcome to contact unit chief Kristine Dose Bertelsen at 51 84 30 93.
