About the job

Do you want to help create new opportunities for people with dementia and their relatives? Then you may be the person we are looking for.

Haderslev Municipality has politically prioritized a strengthened effort in the dementia area. Therefore, we are seeking two committed employees for fixed-term positions, who will play a central role in translating ambitions into concrete services and opportunities for citizens and relatives.

We want people with dementia to continue to live a active, dignified and meaningful life . Therefore, we will strengthen early detection, create new offerings in the “in-between space” and develop dementia-friendly activities and communities in close collaboration with civil society.

We are looking for you who want to develop, test and run concrete initiatives . What matters is not only good ideas, but that they are translated into something that can be felt in everyday life by people with dementia and their relatives.

What we will succeed with together

You will become part of the work to

  • strengthen the early detection of dementia and the possibilities for early support
  • develop offerings for people with dementia and relatives who experience a “gap” between existing offers
  • create dementia-friendly activities and access to local communities, culture, leisure and association life
  • build a bridge between the municipality, volunteers, associations, organizations and other local actors
  • strengthen knowledge and competencies about dementia across the municipality
  • translate experiences and good ideas into solutions that can function and be anchored in practice.

Your tasks

Your most important task will be to create concrete opportunities together with people with dementia and their relatives .

You will among other things

  • collaborate with citizens, relatives and professionals to uncover needs
  • develop, test and run new citizen-focused offers and activities
  • contribute to early detection and support for people with early signs of dementia
  • establish dementia-friendly activities and communities
  • create collaboration with local associations, cultural institutions, voluntary organizations and other relevant actors
  • support volunteers and create opportunities for participation in culture, leisure and community life
  • plan activities, events and theme days
  • communicate knowledge about dementia to staff and partners
  • follow up on experiences and adjust actions so that what works can be continued and anchored.

You will work closely with colleagues in the dementia area, other municipal departments and for example the Red Cross, Elderly Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Senior Council and local networks.

Who are you?

Your professional background can be health, social or pedagogical . The most important thing is that you want to work closely with citizens and practice, can build relationships and have the courage to bring new initiatives to life.

We imagine that you

  • have experience from the dementia field or a related welfare area
  • have an eye for the diverse needs of people with dementia and their relatives
  • can translate ambitions and ideas into concrete action
  • are good at building relationships and collaborating across sectors
  • are interested in volunteering, co-creation and civil society
  • can communicate, teach and advise
  • work independently, in a structured way and at the same time thrive in close collaboration with others
  • are curious and dare to test new solutions
  • can work flexibly, including afternoons, evenings and weekends when activities require it.

We offer

You will have the opportunity to make a clear mark on the dementia area in Haderslev Municipality and not least in the daily life of people with dementia and their relatives.

You will get

  • great opportunity to translate ideas into concrete citizen-focused offerings
  • freedom and responsibility in task execution
  • close collaboration with dedicated colleagues and leaders
  • opportunity to create new collaborations across the municipality and with civil society
  • a meaningful job where we learn from what we test and use the experiences to create lasting improvements.

Together we create a dementia-friendly Haderslev

A good life with dementia is not created only through municipal offerings. Family, networks, volunteers, associations and local communities also play an important role.

If you want to translate ambitions into new opportunities for people with dementia and their relatives, we look forward to hearing from you.
