Unclassified physician to Department of Geriatrics and Multimorbidity

The Department of Elderly and Multimorbidity at North Zealand Hospital is seeking an unclassified physician for our geriatric ward in Frederikssund.

With us you will meet patients with multiple comorbidities, frailty and complex medical issues. You will become part of a multidisciplinary environment, where there is a focus on clinical quality, supervision and professional development.

About the position

Your primary role will be on the inpatient ward in Frederikssund, where you participate in ward rounds and the daily treatment of patients with geriatric issues. There will also be an opportunity to work in the Elderly Reception in Hillerød up to 20:00.

The tasks include, among others

• Ward rounds, assessment and treatment of geriatric patients.
• Multidisciplinary collaboration with nurses, therapists and other partners.
• Planning of patient pathways, admissions and discharges.
• Participation in the department's on-call duties.

The on-call work includes presence duty on weekdays until 17:15 and weekend ward rounds approximately every fourth weekend.

About the department

The Department of Elderly and Multimorbidity provides assessment and treatment of elderly patients with multimorbidity, frailty and complex treatment needs.

The department consists of a geriatric inpatient ward with 25 beds in Frederikssund, the Elderly Reception with 8 beds in Hillerød, a geriatric team with triage and supervision functions, and the Ambulatory Clinic for Geriatric Diseases, including fall assessment.

In the coming years the department will undergo significant development. From January 1, 2027 the region will take over the treatment responsibility for 169 health and care placements spread across seven sites in North Zealand, and at the same time the functions will be consolidated at Ny Hospital North Zealand.

Your salary and terms of employment Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are trained in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must meet the Danish language proficiency requirement when employed in the Capital Region.* *Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are trained in another EU/EEA country than Denmark must, at the time of employment in the Capital Region, have passed a Danish test (Danish Education 3, corresponding to the 9th grade completion) or at minimum be able to pass the test no later than 1 year after employment, or have obtained equivalent language proficiency in Danish in another way.

The Danish test must be passed with at least the following scores: • spoken communication with a score of 10 • reading comprehension with a score of 7 • written expression with a score of 7
