About the job
Are you interested in taking co-responsibility for the operation and web development for all citizens and businesses in Denmark and becoming part of the team that maintains and further develops the Tax Administration and Growth Ministry's websites? Then you might be our new colleague.
Our office
The Office of Digital Channels has 25 employees and is located in the Development and Simplification Agency (UFST), which is part of the Tax Administration. We work with IT solutions for the entire Taxation and Growth Ministry group and thereby deliver solutions to all citizens and businesses in Denmark. This means that we are the link between internal systems in the Tax Administration as well as between the Tax Administration and the surrounding society.
In our office we are responsible for the operation and development of the Digital Experience Platform (DOP), on which more than 15 ministerial websites are hosted, including skat.dk, which has over 30 million visits annually.
We have moved from a self-developed CMS to a new platform in Azure with Umbraco and APIs in a headless frontend setup. We work agile, team-based and after a DevOps mindset. We mainly use Microsoft Tech Stack and Azure Devops (ADO). Other coding languages may also occur.
You will join a team of 8 with high professionalism, consisting of frontend and backend developers, an analyst, tester/test manager, SCRUM master and a deputy manager. We also have external developers attached to our team. In addition, the office consists of a team with UX specialists and business-facing colleagues. We have a strong focus on delivering value to our customers in the Tax Administration's group as well as to citizens and businesses.
About the position
With us you will have the opportunity to try your hand at various operation and development tasks. You will need to find the famous needles in the haystack when something misbehaves and help solve complex development wishes and thereby develop your competences.
As Umbraco backend developer you will play a crucial role in the team, where the following tasks are included:
- Follow up on errors and operational problems.
- Debug, analyze causes and fix errors in Umbraco and related backend solutions.
- Maintain code and technical dependencies
- Plan, test and implement upgrades of Umbraco, including major versions, minor version updates and security fixes.
- Ongoing upgrading of third-party components, to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Maintain, further develop and test CMS functionality and integrations to DOP and related solutions.
- Handle technical support inquiries from editors and the business.
- Translate business needs into concrete technical solutions.
- Analyze, break down and estimate operational, maintenance and development tasks.
- Maintain technical documentation and operating procedures.
- Actively participate in code reviews and technical sparring as well as contribute to shared architectural decisions and management of technical debt.
About you
We expect that your focus is on Umbraco backend development. You can come with little or a lot of experience, and if you don't have experience we will teach you what you need.
It is important that you
- are motivated by operating a business-critical platform
- enjoy looking for bugs deep in the code and helping to solve it.
- find inspiration in coding and have focus on optimization and consolidation.
- work structured, are analytical and innovative.
- have a general understanding of backend systems, web applications as well as integrations between IT systems.
- are open, approachable and good at collaborating across disciplines.
- thrive with shifting tasks in a dynamic work environment, and being part of the team in solving tasks.
- have a relevant education with IT development as the main area.
Why should you choose us?
You will become part of a cross-disciplinary office with a wide range of professional competencies. Our tasks are challenging, so we can promise that you will be challenged and develop professionally, just as you will have the opportunity to put your own mark on the tasks and your own personal development. We value work-life balance, which makes work and private life come into a higher unity, and the office is characterized by an informal and open atmosphere with collaboration and sparring across disciplines.
You will join the office's DOP team, where tasks are planned and executed in 2-week sprints. The tasks are a mix of Incidents, where deadlines are often short, and development tasks with a longer solution horizon. There can be busy periods, but we strive for a balance between working hours and the associated tasks. In addition you will always experience that your team colleagues are ready to support and help you – no one is left alone with a task.
Contact and employment terms
We conduct interviews and hire continuously, so please send us your application, CV and your exam papers as well as any testimonials via the link "Apply for the position", no later than 18 November 2026.
