Would you like to help build a new English-language Diploma Engineering program in robotics? Are you passionate about developing a new program in close collaboration with skilled and engaged colleagues, students, and local companies? Then you might be the person we are looking for to support our students in the Diploma Engineering programs and in the continuing and further education in Automation and Operations.

At Absalon you will have the opportunity to combine your experience from robotics, automation, or the machinery sector with teaching. At the same time you will leave your professional mark on the program’s content, laboratories, and collaboration with the industry.

Absalon will establish in September 2027 a new English-language Diploma Engineering program in robotics. The program focuses on the integration of robotics and automation solutions and an understanding of the whole production system in which the solution will operate. The Diploma Engineering program in robotics is closely linked with the Diploma Engineering program in mechanical engineering, as well as the continuing and higher education at the academy level in Automation and Operations.

In the engineering programs, it is our ambition to educate the best engineers in Denmark. We tailor our education to the job market by working closely with the Danish automation, mechanical, and process industry as well as companies and other actors in Biotekbyen Kalundborg and in the Campus Kalundborg collaboration. Your profile

We are seeking an instructor who is passionate about teaching in the cross-disciplinary area between robotics technology, automation, production management, and mechanical engineering. It is therefore important that you can recognize yourself in the following:

A skilled and motivating teacher,

who is engaged with the students. You contribute together with your colleagues to create an active, professional, and social study environment. It is important that you can contribute positively to the close professional relationship we have between teachers and students.

Contributes to making the academic, practical, and collaborative aspects work well.

We are more than just a workplace, and you should, like us, be driven by a strong camaraderie and a common professional interest. You will consult with your colleagues about your teaching, and together we will find solutions to practical tasks.

You also easily engage in dialogue with companies regarding opportunities for continuing education and collaboration with students in the Diploma Engineering programs.

You want to join a work community and help establish a new program.

We are building and continuously developing our engineering programs, and a lot will be done for the first time. You will play a central role in describing and building the new program in robotics technology and automation. Among other things, you will help design and procure the right equipment for forthcoming robotics and automation laboratories.

Your engineering professionalism comes into play

as you teach, guide, and consult with colleagues within parts of the following areas

  • Integration and programming of industrial robots, e.g., Universal Robots, ABB, KUKA, FANUC
  • Industrial 4.0
  • Siemens TIA-Portal
  • Industrial networks
  • Vision systems and sensor technology
  • Safety systems and cyber security
  • CE marking and applicable standards for the field
  • Integration of AI in robotics and automation solutions
  • PLC-, HMI- and SCADA-solutions
  • CAD and 3D printing

In addition, we expect that you

  • have a background as an engineer, e.g., robotics/automation engineer, production engineer, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer or similar
  • have relevant industry experience within the engineering profession
  • can teach in English and preferably also in Danish
  • are preferably lecturer-qualified
  • have insight into the industry's needs for engineering competencies within robotics and automation. It is not a prerequisite, but it would be an advantage.

Your tasks

As a lecturer in the Diploma Engineering programs and in Automation and Operations, you will have a range of different tasks during a workweek.

Build a program.

You have an interest in playing a central role in establishing a new program in robotics technology and possibly taking on a coordinating role in describing the program, drafting the study regulations, establishing student and industry networks, and procuring equipment and organizing laboratories. If you have experience with and interest in certain administrative tasks, that would be an advantage.

Teach and supervise students in projects.

You will primarily teach and supervise our students both theoretically and in laboratory- and project-based settings within your subject areas. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate the teaching yourself. You will also participate in ongoing development of our teaching.

Teach in continuing education (EVU) and in initial education.

You will teach students in full-time study as well as course participants who have full-time work alongside their education in EVU. For EVU teaching there may also be tasks with outreach to companies and presenting the educational offerings.

Professional collaboration as part of everyday life.

You will become part of a professional community where you collaborate with your colleagues. Together you will plan good teaching sequences, develop teaching materials, and perhaps there is an event connected to the center that needs to be organized.

Teaching in the various educational offerings will primarily take place at our Campus Kalundborg, but in EVU areas there may be teaching at Absalon’s campus in Roskilde. You should be prepared for some teaching to take place on weekends or in evenings.

Your colleagues

You will be employed in the Centre for Engineering and Science, which runs the programs in Biomedical Laboratory Science, Radiography, Diploma in Biotechnology, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, as well as the continuing and higher education Diploma programs in Biotechnology, Process Technology and Chemistry, Akademi education in Automation and Operations, and Akademi education in Innovation, Product and Production.

You will be part of a team with a head of education, associate professors and lecturers. On our engineering programs in Kalundborg we are about 20 teaching staff. We work to create the best engineering education in close collaboration with the biotech industry in Northwest Zealand, as well as our engaged students. We value high professionalism and solve tasks and challenges in a team, where we are all conscious of the importance of contributing to the community and to the center’s overall objectives.

We are based in a newly built campus building from 2021 and in the neighboring Helix Lab building. Absalon is also part of the Campus Kalundborg initiative, where we work closely with five other educational institutions, and from 2028 we will be part of a new shared Campus Kalundborg construction.

There may be a possibility of appointment as lecturer. Please indicate in your application which type of appointment you are seeking.

How to apply

Appointments are made under the applicable collective agreement in the state sector.

  • For you who are newly graduated and are hired as an adjunct, a expected starting salary would be 41,232 DKK including pension. For you who are an experienced instructor and are hired as a lecturer, an expected starting salary would be 53,537 DKK including pension. There is the possibility to negotiate a qualification supplement based on qualifications and experience.
  • The position is full-time with a start date of January 1, 2027, preferably earlier
  • If you have any questions about the position, you are welcome to contact the head of education Jesper Stensbo Knudsen, [email protected], 7248 3224
  • Application and relevant attachments are submitted via our recruitment system here: https://phabsalon.dk/job-i-absalon/ledige-stillinger, or by clicking on 'Søg stillingen' on the right side of this page no later than November 15, 2026
  • We expect to conduct interviews on an ongoing basis, but no later than weeks 47 and 48.

We want our staff to reflect the surrounding society, and we therefore encourage all interested people regardless of gender, cultural and ethnic background to apply.

For the position it applies that you are hired as either adjunct or lecturer depending on your qualifications.

At Absalon, the adjunct position is a 4-year educational post. We support this through Absalon’s lecturer qualification program, which all newly hired adjuncts participate in, and where everyone is assigned a supervisor. In order to be employed as a lecturer, a positive lecturer evaluation within the scope of the position’s application area is required.

When hiring lecturers who were lecturer-evaluated before the 2013 position structure, the appointment is under the previously centrally fixed salary and employment terms. Depending on your qualifications, weighed against the concrete content of the position, a renewed lecturer evaluation under the current position structure (fast-track arrangement) may possibly be agreed.
