Urban planners for local plans

We are busy! Actually so busy, that the City Council has allocated budget to hire more town planners

Skanderborg Municipality is growing, and there is high demand for new local plans. Therefore we are looking for three town planners who will help translate visions into reality and create the framework for the future's most beautiful municipality.

You will be part of realizing the Council's vision "People meet people – in Denmark's most beautiful municipality". The vision obliges us to think sustainably and strategically in local planning – in close dialogue with developers and citizens. The main focus of your tasks will be local planning. You will work with the entire local planning process from the initial discussions to a plan finally adopted. You will also contribute to further developing the way we prepare local plans – and it is therefore important that you find working with the "local plan tool" interesting.

We solve tasks with a holistic approach. We therefore attach great importance to our collaboration with other professional groups internally in the municipality and externally with consultants, advisors and citizens.

The Council has adopted an Architecture Policy, which - like the Climate Policy - is central in the preparation of local plans in the municipality. Currently the Council is also in the process of developing a green mobility policy, which will have significance for future local plans.

Your professional and personal profile

Professionally you are

• relevant educated – with absolutely great interest and gladly good experience within physical planning
• completely familiar with the Planning Act and preferably the Environmental Assessment Act
• a skilled project manager, who can create progress in larger and often complex cross-disciplinary projects with many stakeholders
• one who is motivated by cross-disciplinary collaborations – both within the professional field and across the organization with a holistic approach to task solving
• persistent in delivering results through negotiation, cooperation and dialogue with investors, developers and local residents, and
• a strong communicator in writing and speech.

As a person you are

• development-oriented and have a curious approach to planning
• empathetic and approachable
• independent, but good at seeking help and sparring with colleagues
• a competent party in a good dialogue with both developers and citizens
• efficient, solution-oriented and takes initiative, and

About Plan, Technology and Environment

We in Plan, Technology and Environment at the Town Hall "Fælleden" have about 90 employees with backgrounds as engineers, architects, building constructors, biologists, geologists and other academics as well as administrative staff with broad and mixed experiences and references. In addition there are about 65 employees in the Contractor Department. This is an exciting and broad professional environment with good opportunities for professional and personal development.

Salary and employment conditions

Salary and employment conditions are according to applicable collective agreement. The positions are permanent and full-time.
