About the position

As an introductory physician with us you will receive a thorough introduction to the orthopedic surgery specialty. You will join the department's on-call team with roles in both the department and the emergency reception. The on-call team carries the duties with a two-shift operation and consists of about 20 doctors.

In the department we place emphasis on thorough operative training. You will assist in both traumatic and elective procedures and, under supervision, be trained in orthopedic surgical operations.

There are daily specialists on all operating lists, in the outpatient clinic and during rounds to ensure optimal supervision and quality of care. In addition, shorter, focused stays in the department's elective sections are aimed for during the employment.

We offer

  • Employment in a broad orthopedic department with high ambitions for treatment, education and research.
  • A department characterized by mutual trust, good teamwork and professional pride.
  • A strong learning environment with education in focus every day and good training opportunities.
  • A very active research unit with 6 affiliated professors and many ongoing PhD students as well as ample opportunities for research activity.
  • Employment in a department with the opportunity to influence development and participate in administrative and educational initiatives.
  • A workplace with strong togetherness, where well-being, humor and good collegial collaboration are highly valued.
  • Possibility for paid leave with or without financial support for either AO Basic, ATLS or SAKS courses.

We expect that you

  • Have the right to independent practice and have completed KBU.

  • Contribute to maintaining and developing the department's good working environment.
  • Have good collaboration skills and can work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Are solution-oriented and have the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Can work professionally and with commitment to developing your competencies in relation to the physician roles.
