We are looking for 2 pedagogical assistants for our nursery, 32–37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027

This might be you we are looking for at Børnehuset Skrænten! We are seeking 2 pedagogical assistants for our nursery for children aged 0–2 years who want to become part of our everyday life and community.

Who are we? Børnehuset Skrænten is an integrated day-care facility in Roskilde Municipality, normed for 59 children. With us, children must feel safe, feel that they belong, and feel that they are important for the community.

We are focused on creating a everyday life where there is room for diversity, curiosity, good relationships and lots of play. We meet the children with warmth, recognition and an interest in who they are and what they are interested in.

We believe that children do the best they can, and that it is our task as adults to help them succeed, feel part of the community and notice new possibilities.

A daily life with presence, care and play In the nursery, the small moments are often the big ones. It can be a smile, a child taking their first steps toward new experiences, the joy of discovering something new or the feeling of being met by an adult who has time and desire to be right there.

We know that the youngest children need safe and present adults who are attentive to their signals, follow their initiatives and help them explore the world at their own pace.

Therefore we are looking for you who wants to be close to the children and actively participate in their everyday life. You do not need to have all the answers in advance. The most important is that you are curious, caring and eager to learn together with the children and your colleagues.

In daily practice we work, among other things, with

• Create safe relationships where each child feels seen, met and understood.
• Support the children’s well-being, development and curiosity through play and presence.
• Create small, safe child communities where the children gradually get to know each other.
• Follow the children’s initiatives and give space to their ideas and interests.
• Use our outdoor areas and local surroundings actively so the children have the opportunity to explore the world around them.
• Create a recognizable daily life with care, presence and room for each child’s needs.
• Collaborate closely with parents and colleagues about the children’s well-being and development.

Your daily life will be close to the children – both in play, in routines and in the activities that arise during the day, indoors as well as outdoors. It could be singing a song, reading a book, exploring something exciting on the playground, helping a child find calm or being the safe adult who is right there where you are needed.

With us you are an important part of the community We know that good conditions for the children start with adults who thrive, feel safe and experience that they have colleagues around them to collaborate with and learn from.

As a pedagogical assistant you are an important part of the children’s daily life. Your observations, initiatives and the way you meet the children matter. You do not need to be a trained educator to make a difference – the most important is that you want to contribute and be an active part of the community.

Perhaps you have experience from a day-care facility – perhaps you are entering the pedagogical field for the first time. Experience is certainly not a requirement. The most important is your motivation, your approach to the children and your desire to be part of our community.
