Diocese of Viborg seeks a Building Consultant

The Diocese of Viborg seeks a Building Consultant with a start date of January 1, 2027. The position is fixed-term for 4 years and expires on December 31, 2030.

The position is a secondary occupation.

We are looking for a Building Consultant who understands the interplay between cultural heritage, architecture and the many facets of the Church of Denmark's building stock and who will actively contribute to the preservation and development of these buildings.

Profile

To be considered as a Building Consultant you must be trained as an Architect MAA or have an equivalent approved degree.

Tasks

The tasks involve advice and guidance to parish councils, provost committees and the diocese upon request on among other things:

• the parsonage residences and other buildings
• reconstruction and demolition of buildings
• construction of new buildings
• purchase, rental or sale of buildings and building plots.

You shall as a Building Consultant, upon request, provide statements in cases relating to the above areas.

You will also be required to participate in the assessment of parsonages with a view to determining housing contributions. In addition you will participate in building inspections at the diocese's administrative building as well as the bishop's official residence.

It is important to note that as a Building Consultant you may not undertake design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed by, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

The practical

As a Building Consultant you act as an advisor to the church authorities according to the rules in:

• The Danish Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs Regulation No. 955 of 6 October 2009 on the Church of Denmark's consultants
• The Danish Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the Shared Instructions for Church of Denmark's consultants
• Guidance No. 9789 of 6 October 2009 on Church of Denmark's consultants

Note that the regulations and circulars may change before and during the employment period.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of January 1, 2026

• Advisory matters under § 8 in Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the Shared Instructions for Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,236 DKK per hour.
• Statements under § 7, para. 1, in Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the Shared Instructions for Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,854 DKK per statement.

The remuneration is supplemented by a 12.5% holiday allowance, while no VAT is to be added.

The rates are adjusted annually on January 1.
