About the job

Yes, you read that correctly!

In the Social Psychiatry and Disability in Egedal Municipality we are now looking for new colleagues who have the courage to work towards citizens managing as independently as possible – so that one day they no longer need our professional expertise.

It might sound strange. But it is actually the core of our work.

When we succeed, the citizen has achieved greater independence, more belief in their own abilities and more opportunities to live the life they want. Therefore we do not work for the citizen. We work together with the citizen.

We take as starting point one single question

"What can you not do today – and what would you like to be able to do tomorrow?"

This question guides our effort, our professionalism and our collaboration with the citizens.

Become an important part of the citizens' development process

As a field-based employee in Social Psychiatry and Disability you meet people in their own homes and in their own lives.

You support people with mental, social or cognitive challenges in developing skills, strengthening agency and creating a daily life with greater self-determination and quality of life.

It may involve helping the citizens

  • To create structure in a daily life that feels overwhelming
  • To get control of finances, mail or appointments
  • To interact with other people
  • To move around in public places such as in public transportation or in the local supermarket
  • To come closer to education, employment or communities
  • To discover that you can actually do more than you thought
  • To perform day-to-day tasks in their own home

For the citizens these are not small things, but life-changing activities that enable them to live an ordinary life on their own terms.

Who are you?

You see resources before limitations.

You know that development rarely happens through great advice alone. It happens through curiosity, perseverance and a professional effort where the citizen is an active participant.

You can keep to the direction, even when the road is uneven. And you fundamentally believe that all people can develop when met with respect, hope and appropriate support.

We are focused on being an employer with diverse competencies and professional perspectives on solving the tasks. For us, it is not the title of your degree that is decisive, but that you can translate professionalism into meaningful changes together with the citizens.

Your educational background can therefore be social and health-related.

Therefore you should choose us

With us you do not get a manual with the answers in advance.

Instead you get

  • Great freedom to plan and organize your workday
  • 34 skilled and engaged colleagues who stay with us because they thrive
  • A workplace with high professionalism, humor and strong collegiality
  • Systematic competence development including recovery-oriented rehabilitation, cognitive methods, MI and FIT
  • Professional sparring, where we challenge and develop each other
  • The possibility to go home knowing you have made a real difference

We expect that you

  • Can work independently while being an active part of the community
  • Find it natural to work recovery-oriented and rehabilitative
  • Can document professional efforts and progression
  • Are curious about your own practice and willing to learn new
  • Have a driver's license

It is a requirement that you want to work with FIT. You do not need to know the method beforehand – we will teach you.

We are looking for

Colleagues for a permanent position of 37 hours.

Does this sound like something for you?

Then send us your application. We hold interviews on an ongoing basis.

We would like to hear what drives you professionally, and why you believe that people develop best when they are given the opportunity to take control of their own lives.

If you have become curious, we look forward to hearing from you. From week 43 you can contact:

Team Leader Lea Andreasen – 21 25 70 59
