Student Life at AAU Education and Students at Aalborg University are seeking two student study counselors for employment starting February 1, 2027, with a start on February 1, 2027.

Your tasks

As a student study counselor, your primary task is to advise students in Danish and English via email, telephone, and in-person conversations. In addition, you will give presentations in both Danish and English across programs and on individual programs, participate in events where you represent Student Life, etc.

You will also handle various ad hoc tasks, such as reporting, data processing, and web tasks when there is less activity in the advising service.

Working hours

Your working hours primarily fall within the advising service's opening hours, i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:30 to 14:30, where you as a rule should be able to work one to two days per week (either from 10:30-14:30 or 12:30-14:30). In periods leading up to, for example, the start of studies, exams, and in connection with outreach efforts, we expect that you can contribute several times per week – some days from 9-15.

The monthly working time varies from 12 to 20 hours, with the possibility of more hours in busy periods.

Your competencies

As a student study counselor, you will be part of a professional, quality-conscious environment where we meet the person seeking guidance on equal terms, basing the interaction on their own experience of the situation. It is a prerequisite that you are a regular student at Aalborg University, that you have a good understanding of the study form, and that you speak and understand Danish and English in writing and speech.

In addition, we expect that you are

• Interested in other people and preferably have experience with counseling
• Flexible and able to contribute with extra hours in busy periods
• Motivated to give presentations to larger and smaller groups in Danish and English
• Helpful and service-oriented
• Independent and responsible in completing your tasks
• Skilled in conveying and communicating both orally and in writing in Danish and English
• Able to work with both quantitative and qualitative data to a lesser extent

Salary and terms of employment

You are hired and remunerated according to the circular on the collective agreement for student instructors at universities, etc. The employment is conditional on you being a student.

There is a 3-month mutual probation period in the position.
