Do you have strong quantitative expertise, experience in personnel management and a sense of how data creates value for users? Consulting at Statistics Denmark is seeking a senior chief consultant who will take the professional and managerial responsibility for our data consultants and assume the role of head of methods for the entire Statistics Denmark.

A central leadership role at the intersection of professionalism and business

As a senior chief consultant you will be part of the management of the Consulting Office and report directly to the office head. You will have personnel responsibility for the staff in the Data Consultants Team and in the Methods Team, and you will become a central driving force in connecting strong statistical methodological expertise with a professional and customer-focused approach to task execution. In the position you will fulfil two core roles:

• As head of methods at Statistics Denmark you will have the overall responsibility for setting a clear strategic and professional direction for statistical methods in the organization. You build and maintain a strategic overview of needs and opportunities for central support for statistical methods, across Statistics Denmark's professional offices.
• As head of the Data Consultants you operate as a playmaker and a "playing coach" who creates the best framework for professional immersion and high customer satisfaction and professional task execution.

You shall as manager handle daily personnel management and professional prioritization for the staff in the Data Consultants Team and the Methods Team.

Business processes and tailored data solutions

A substantial part of Consulting's activities is revenue-funded business. Therefore it is essential that you have a good sense of opportunities with data and the business processes around tailored statistics — from customer dialogue on task clarification to pricing, terms and delivery of tailored data solutions to authorities, companies and researchers. You ensure that high methodological quality goes hand in hand with efficient business processes, good data security and a pronounced service culture.

Your primary tasks

• People management and professional sparring. Ensure well-being, skills development and professional prioritization of tasks in the Data Consultants Team and in the Methods Team.
• Strategic method development. Set direction for the methodological work at Statistics Denmark, advise on complex statistical issues and ensure central support for methodological needs.
• Business understanding and customer focus. Strengthen the business processes for tailored statistics so that customers' needs are translated into valid and usable solutions within the applicable contractual frameworks.
• Cross-cutting project and financial management.
• Contribute to financial management, resource allocation and execution of larger cross-cutting development projects in the revenue-funded area.

About the Consulting Office

Consulting comprises about 40 dedicated employees who work at the intersection of data, analysis, method and customer service. In addition to statistical method and tailored tasks, the office also serves researchers and other users with access to microdata, among other things in collaboration with the National Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society (CAISA). The office also includes a dedicated International Advisory Unit, which handles international advisory and collaboration projects in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We imagine you have a relevant educational background, as well as solid experience in bringing registry data and data-driven analyses into play for external stakeholders.

• Have insight into statistical methods and the ability to identify where central support and methodological development are needed in the organization.
• Understand the business processes of customer sales and advisory services, including proposal writing, pricing structure and terms for tailored statistical solutions.
• Are service-minded, trustworthy and strong at building collaborative relationships across professional domains.
• Communicate clearly and be able to make complex methodological topics understandable for staff, management and external partners.

Salary and employment

The appointment takes place under the AC collective agreement rules for senior chief consultants with personnel responsibility. There is potential for negotiating a personal allowance.

The appointment is full-time and starts as soon as possible, but no later than February 1, 2027.
