We currently have a vacant position as a social worker in F-ACT at our outpatient clinic for youths aged 14-17.

The department is geographically located at Lersø Park Allé 107, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.

In the Adolescent Outpatient Clinic, youths aged 14-17 are assessed and treated who are referred for a mental illness of a scope that requires assessment and possible hospital-based treatment.

The outpatient clinic handles assessment and treatment of a wide range of adolescent psychiatric issues including ADHD, affective disorders, psychosis, autism, and anxiety.

The outpatient clinic has a highly specialized function for the assessment and treatment of youths with bipolar affective disorder. The clinic also serves as a regional function for treatment of borderline personality disorder with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

For patients who for a period need a quicker and/or more intensive intervention, we offer F-ACT, which provides opportunities for home visits and close follow-up.

The department employs about 35 staff. The workforce includes specialists, doctors in training, senior psychologists, psychologists, psychologists in training to become specialist psychologists, nurses, senior nurses, two social workers and medical secretaries.

The department is led by Chief Physician Pernille Prahl, Chief Nurse Nanina Johansen and Chief Nurse Louise Thinggaard in collaboration.

The department participates in pre- and postgraduate medical and nursing education.

The job

You will function as the department's specialist in cross-sector collaboration. You will contribute with your knowledge of social legislation in conferences and through daily sparring and teaching of your colleagues.

You will be one of three social workers in the department, so besides the other social workers, your closest colleagues will be the multidisciplinary colleagues, doctors, nurses and psychologists in the department.

In a mono-disciplinary capacity you will be part of the professional and social community with the center's experienced, skilled and engaged group of 37 social workers.

Your competencies as a social worker in this position will primarily be used in F-ACT.

F-ACT is offered to our patients who for a period require faster and/or more intensive intervention, and it also provides the possibility for home visits.

Being an employee in F-ACT in youth psychiatry means working closely with young people with complex mental health challenges. Tasks range from network meetings, participation in conversations with other treaters, preparation of notices, cross-sector collaboration and home visits.

Additionally, we have close collaboration with family members, schools and other agencies. It is a meaningful and varied daily life where cross-disciplinary collaboration is central.

Your daily routine will also include participation in F-ACT board meetings, multidisciplinary conferences, close and ongoing sparring with other employees attached to F-ACT, and a standby function if the team coordinator is absent.

You will have ongoing and weekly opportunities for multidisciplinary sparring with specialists or clinical psychologists.

Your tasks

• Koordinate samarbejde i forhold til socialforvaltning, PPR, UU-vejledere samt andre institutioner herunder i døgninstitutioner/anbringelsessteder, hvis patienten er anbragt.
• Administrative work including preparing notices and statements to the social authorities in collaboration with doctors and psychologists.
• Guiding parents and patients on social-law matters.

The above tasks will, for you, primarily center on our patients attached to F-ACT.

You will have a broad range of duties requiring your ability to switch between close multidisciplinary collaboration and independent mono-disciplinary work.

During a day, you may contribute the social-legal perspective at a multidisciplinary conference, act as meeting chair and minute-taker at a network meeting, speak with municipal caseworkers to coordinate interventions, prepare a notice and guide a parent in cooperation with the municipality/ social legislation.

Regardless of the task, you will draw on your knowledge and experience from municipal authority work, and the knowledge you build about child and adolescent psychiatry.

A challenging, educational and meaningful job and we offer professional sparring and supervision with the center's other social workers. We also offer close mono-disciplinary sparring in the introduction period and thereafter ad hoc.

We expect

• Education as a social worker or social mediator (non-negotiable requirement).
• Practical experience as a social worker in the authority area with children/youth.
• Good collaborative skills with daily colleagues, our cross-sector partners and families.
• Good communication skills both orally and in writing.

You must be autonomous and have a good deal of professional self-confidence. You must be attentive to the needs of families and the department, while also being proactive about where you can contribute with your social work.

Clinical experience from child and adolescent psychiatry and/or adult psychiatry would be an advantage.

Salary and terms

The position is 37 hours per week, and we would like you to start on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

There is no evening or weekend work.

As a social worker you are employed under the collective agreement for social workers - 32.32.1

As a social mediator you are employed under the collective agreement for Administration and IT staff etc. 32.01.1

In accordance with legal requirements, any employment at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Center requires a clean police certificate. The center will obtain the certificate from the National Police with the applicant's consent.

About the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center (BUC) is part of Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital and covers the entire Region Capital. The center conducts assessment and treatment of children and youths with all forms of severe mental disorders that require a multidisciplinary hospital-based approach. The center has two clinical departments, Outpatient Department and Inpatient Department, spread across several sites in the region, as well as a large research unit.

In addition the center has a range of support functions, including an administration and a quality and improvement unit. In total about 1,000 employees work in close multidisciplinary collaboration for about 18,000 children and youths aged 0-17 seen at the center annually (2025).
