We are looking for an instructor for the Cartography and Surveying Technician education

The Cartography and Surveying Technician program is seeking an engaged and professionally strong land surveyor or similar to become part of our dedicated teaching team, where professionalism, collaboration and the students are in the forefront. We offer an exciting and varied position where you can greatly contribute to developing the education.

The program is facing an exciting reform, and you will in collaboration with the teaching team have a central role in the development of both the teaching and the program.

Your main responsibilities are

• Planning and conducting teaching in
• data and law regarding the case processes in the cadastre area
• physical planning with a focus on legislation, authority work and practice
• the theory of basic surveying
• Guidance and focus on the students' learning and development
• Collaboration with the teaching team on planning, execution and evaluation of teaching
• Participation in development and implementation in connection with the reform work
• Participation in adjunct programs, including research and development activities, with a view to lecturer qualification

Our expectations of you and your competencies

We are looking for a candidate who

• Is educated as a land surveyor or has a corresponding relevant background
• Has practical experience from the industry and solid insight into cadastre legislation and physical planning
• Possibly experience or interest in hydrographic surveying (see below)
• Is passionate about conveying knowledge and creating good conditions for the students' learning
• Wants to be involved in rethinking and developing the education
• Is curious and has good collaboration and communication skills

In connection with the development of the education in accordance with the reform, we have in collaboration with actors in the industry assessed that it would be relevant to include the topic of hydrographic surveying in the curriculum. As part of this hire we are therefore looking for a candidate who perhaps has or wishes to acquire competencies in this area. We offer training to the extent necessary.

There may also be opportunities for competence development in other relevant topics.

A bit about us

The Cartography and Surveying Technician program at VIA accepts a maximum of 35 students per year and we are currently 4 staff members on the program. You will be attached to our department on Campus Horsens, where we are part of VIA Building, which also educates building constructors and construction technicians.

Terms of employment

Depending on your educational background, employment is in accordance with either the applicable collective agreement for academics in the state or the joint agreement for LC/CO10 and the organizational agreement for teachers at university colleges and professional bachelor schools.

Employment is covered by Regulation no. 414 of 27 April 2025 on the position structure for teachers at higher education institutions at university colleges, professional bachelor schools, the Danish School of Media and Journalism and maritime educational institutions, as well as Regulation no. 413 of 27 April 2025 on lecturer qualification, lecturer assessment and docent assessment.

The position is essentially 37 hours per week.

Your primary workplace is Campus Horsens, but you should expect that there may be activities across the Central Denmark Region.
