Autism Center of Southern Denmark – Bihuset Døgn is seeking full-time pedagogues for our children/young people with autism.

Employment on December 1 or as soon as possible.

We are looking for several pedagogues who can stay calm when the world becomes turbulent.

One who can be curious when behavior is difficult to understand.

One who takes responsibility for the relationship, the pedagogical task, and the professional community.

At Bihuset Døgn, children and young people with autism live who need adults who can create calm, predictability, and security – even when the day does not go as planned.

We are looking for a pedagogue who is curious about what lies behind the behavior.

We believe that behavior makes sense – even when we cannot immediately see the meaning. Therefore we are also curious about the frameworks around the child and our own way of being with them.

You will become an important adult for the children; as a pedagogue at Bihuset you will have a special responsibility as contact pedagogue for some of the children.

It requires you to take responsibility; you do not need to be the adult who can do everything, you must be an adult who takes responsibility.

We expect that you

• are trained pedagogue or pedagogical assistant
• are curious about what lies behind the behavior, and investigate what the child is trying to tell
• are curious that the frameworks are adapted to the individual child – to ensure predictability.
• take responsibility as contact pedagogue and closely follow the child's well-being, development and pedagogical goals
• reflect on your own practice and be willing to change course when something doesn’t work
• contribute to a positive, fun and informal collaborative culture

Professionalism and collaboration – both for the benefit of the child

We share observations, challenge each other’s perspectives and help each other understand the individual child.

The goal is not that each of us should be right. The goal is that we together become better at understanding the child.

And although the task is serious, the collaboration can be easy. We want colleagues who want to go to work, contribute to the good atmosphere and bring humor into everyday life.

We take the task seriously – but we don’t need to take ourselves seriously.

What we offer

• 5 intro shifts, where you have the opportunity to get to know the children, the colleagues, and everyday life.
• A thorough introduction process, which continues into the first months of your employment.
• Autism Center of Southern Denmark’s autism basic education as a shared professional foundation.
• Regular supervision and professional sparring.
• Possibility for further education and relevant courses through Autism Center of Southern Denmark’s course department.
• 8-week rotation and work every other weekend.
• Work on both day and evening shifts. You must therefore be able to meet early in the morning – we say good morning in Bihuset between 06:00/06:30.
• An workplace with room for humor, engagement and an informal tone.

The relationship and pedagogy are a part of the child’s everyday life – every day.
