We’ve got growing pains and have expanded our ward with 2 beds . Therefore we are now looking for 2 new colleagues who can help to complete our fantastic team.

🏥 Who are we?

We are Orthopedic Surgical Ward 3 , located on the 4th floor in the R-wing at SUH Køge .

We have just expanded our bed capacity from 31 to 33 beds and treat patients with problems and injuries in the musculoskeletal system. Therefore we are now seeking 2 new colleagues for our team.

With us you will find a team with a wide range of experiences. Some have less than one year of experience, while others have more than 10 years. We believe that this mix makes us stronger, because we can learn from and develop together.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in making a difference , is curious and eager to develop within the orthopedic surgical specialty.

And don’t worry – you do not need to have orthopedic surgical experience to apply!

We are ready to help you get well integrated into the specialty. All new employees undergo an onboarding program , where you are assigned to an experienced onboarding nurse who will closely accompany you in the beginning.

In addition, in collaboration with Professionshøjskolen Absalon , we have created 3 diploma modules specifically aimed at orthopedic surgical nursing.

We have an ambition to deliver the best nursing care and treatment to our patients – while ensuring that our nurses are well equipped to work in our exciting specialty.

👩⚕️ About the orthopedic surgical department

Orthopedic Surgical Department is a large department divided into two wards .

Ward 1 specializes among other things in

• Complex wound treatments
• Amputation surgery
• Foot surgery
• Spine surgery

Ward 3 specializes among other things in

• Prosthetic surgery – including hip, knee, shoulder and elbow
• Trauma surgery – including proximal femur fractures
• Fractures of upper and lower extremities
• Child trauma surgery

We receive patients from both domestic and international and treat patients of all ages.

Across the two wards we share a common goal: We take pride in delivering caring and professional nursing that makes a noticeable difference in patients’ quality of life.

At the same time we value that there is room for high spirits, camaraderie and a helping hand when everyday life gets busy.

We are a large department where we prioritize professionalism, community and development – and where new colleagues are always welcomed with a smile. 😊

💙 Your tasks

As a nurse with us your tasks will include

• To provide care and treatment for patients in the pre- and postoperative phase in connection with orthopedic surgical procedures.
• To monitor and assess patients’ health status with care and professionalism.
• To work closely with doctors, physiotherapists, pharmaconomists and other professional groups to ensure a holistic patient pathway.
• To support and guide patients and relatives in connection with rehabilitation and recovery.
• To document nursing care accurately with a focus on quality.
• To coordinate municipal interventions in connection with discharges.

• Is educated as a nurse with Danish authorization and has an interest in orthopedic surgical patients.
• Is responsible, engaged and thrives with both independent tasks and teamwork.
• Has good communication skills and an empathetic approach to patients and relatives.
• Is curious about the field and open to professional development.
• Wants to contribute actively to the department’s ongoing development.
• Contributes to a good working environment with good humor, engagement and a helping hand.

Area of employment

Starting salary for employees under collective agreement

The region is obligated to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally fixed allowances and pension under the relevant collective agreement. In addition to the starting salary, the pay may include negotiable allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
