Engaged
What does it mean?
Engaged (engageret) describes emotional and intellectual commitment to one's work, team and organisation. Engaged employees are motivated, contribute beyond minimum requirements and align with company goals.
Employers value engagement for productivity, retention and customer satisfaction. Job postings use the term to seek candidates who will invest in the role and culture.
Show engagement through examples: volunteer initiatives, mentoring colleagues, improving processes, positive feedback from managers or sustained performance in challenging periods.
Engagement differs from overwork — sustainable engagement includes boundaries and wellbeing. Ask about workload and support to assess whether high engagement expectations are realistic.
