Flexible job

What does it mean?

Flexible job (fleksjob) is a publicly subsidised employment scheme for people with permanently and significantly reduced ability to work on ordinary terms due to disability or chronic illness.

Work is typically part-time at reduced productivity; employer receives wage subsidy; employee may combine wages with disability pension (førtidspension) supplement depending on assessment.

Granted after municipal assessment of work ability. Not the same as flexjob in casual English sense — specific Danish legal institution.

Path involves contact with municipality, medical documentation and job matching with willing employers. Provides meaningful work and income when ordinary labour market is inaccessible.
