Headhunter
What does it mean?
Headhunters (executive search consultants) work for employers to fill senior, specialist or confidential positions. Unlike traditional recruiters, they often approach passive candidates directly via LinkedIn, phone or network.
Being contacted by a headhunter does not oblige you to accept an interview, but it is an opportunity to explore the market. Respond professionally even if not interested — relationships matter long term.
Headhunters are paid by the employer, not you. Never pay fees for recruitment. Verify the firm and role before sharing confidential information.
Optimise your LinkedIn profile and network visibility if you target senior roles. Headhunters search by title, industry, skills and recommendations.
