Courses for unemployed
What does it mean?
Courses for unemployed (kurser for ledige) are education and training offers aimed at bringing unemployed people closer to employment. Funders include municipalities (job centre), a-kasser and state programmes (AMU, vocational education).
Courses range from short digital skills workshops to multi-month vocational retraining. Eligibility depends on your situation, job centre assessment and labour market relevance.
Participation may be voluntary or mandatory as part of activation. While on dagpenge, course participation is coordinated with benefit rules — notify your a-kasse before starting.
Choose courses aligned with documented labour market demand. Ask about certification, placement rates and whether transport and materials are covered. Update your CV immediately after completion.

Two-week rule
