We are looking for both a permanent colleague and engaged substitutes who want to make a difference for children and young people with significant and lasting reduced physical and/or mental functioning. Maybe you are looking for a permanent position, maybe you want to start as a substitute and get to know us first. Both options are possible with us.

Our children are as diverse as any other children. They have different personalities, interests, strengths and challenges. What they have in common is that they need adults who see the person before the disability.

And if we are to be completely honest – we are pretty crazy about them!

They challenge us, teach us something new and make us laugh every single day.

The children are with us in their leisure time. Therefore our core task is to create a safe, developing and meaningful childhood. We cook together, go on outings, play games, help with daily routines, comfort, support and create the small moments that become big memories.

At the same time, we want to be honest. The work is complex. Some children have extensive support needs and can react strongly when they become overloaded or insecure. Therefore the job requires that you can remain calm, create structure and safe boundaries, be curious about the child's perspective and at the same time dare to stand firm when the child needs an adult who keeps direction and helps through the difficult parts.

Our professional foundation

We work from a neuroaffective, developmental-psychology and mentalizing approach. The relationship is our most important working tool, and based on, among other things, Low Arousal and individually tailored pedagogical strategies, we create development through safe relationships and a close collaboration with families and other partners.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the current collective agreement between KL and the negotiating party organization.

Reference

When employed, references will be obtained.

Criminal record check

Upon employment a criminal record check will be obtained. The employment is conditional on the record being without remarks of significance for carrying out the specific position.

Childcare certificate

For employment containing work with children and young people, a children's certificate will be obtained. The employment is conditional on a children's certificate without remarks.

Fredericia Municipality is a tobacco-free workplace.

Working hours

The fixed positions are on 30-37 hours per week , depending on your wishes and our joint agreement.

The positions consist of 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts , mainly in the evening hours. You have the opportunity to work every second or every third weekend , and from the new year we also expect the possibility of overnight shifts .

We take great care to create rotas that take into account both the core task and life outside work, and we help each other when everyday life calls for flexibility.

Substitute positions are hours as needed and by further agreement.

Start date December 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
