About Center for Families

Center for Families is Aabenraa Municipality's institution in the child and family area. At Center for Families we solve tasks within the Child Act §32.

We handle many interventions - including, among other things, family therapy; outpatient and in-patient care as well as family consultant support. We match children and youth with a contact person and handle placements in foster families and in residential care. We also handle tasks regarding supported stays in day and residential services.

We place great emphasis on parents, children and young people being actors and having as much influence on their own lives as possible.

All interventions aim to develop the children and families toward the good everyday life. Our professional and theoretical basis is broad and takes its starting point in systemic and narrative thinking.

Principles that cooperation with the child/young person/family should take place close to home and network, including that it should be documented and measurable, form the basis for the work at Center for Families.

About the job

As a family foster consultant you will work with

• supervision and sparring, advice and guidance to foster families
• teaching and courses for foster families, support- and contact persons
• matching to foster families, contact persons and support persons
• approval of network foster families, private approvals and § 84 approvals
• recruitment of support and contact persons.

We work closely with relevant actors, such as social workers, day care institutions, schools and colleagues.

As a family foster consultant you collaborate with colleagues to create positive development and change for the children and youths referred to Center for Families. We always plan a task based on the child/young person’s action plan and individual position.

Administrative tasks are a large part of the work as a family foster consultant, both in daily note-taking, contracts and recruitment of support and contact persons. Therefore it is advantageous that you can work systematically.

About you

We expect that you professionally

• have a mid-length/advanced education within the pedagogical or social-care field and preferably with experience from a similar position
• have experience in working with supervision, matching and teaching with a focus on relationships and patterns
• have good administrative skills.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary and employment terms according to the agreement with SL/DS.

Working hours are primarily between 8:00 and 17:00 on weekdays, and the position is 35 hours per week.

Please note that before employment a child- and criminal background check will be obtained, and that the employment will be conditional on these being satisfactory. It is also a condition for holding the position that you have a driving license.
