About the job

To the Inclusion Center at Hvidebæk School

Upcoming school year - Start: as soon as possible

Some children learn best when the teaching is clear, organized and meaningful.

When mathematics and Danish become practical and make sense.

When nature and technology become something you can explore, feel, experience and understand – and when arts and creative subjects become alive.

At the Inclusion Center we are looking for a trained teacher who wants to teach our early years students in the inclusion center in close interaction with the class teacher.

We are looking for someone who can combine professional competence, structure and relationship work – and who believes that all children can learn when the conditions are right.

A place where well-being and academic learning go hand in hand

The Inclusion Center is a special education teaching provision (§20, section 2) located in Jerslev in Kalundborg Municipality.

Here we have 57 students from 0th–9th grade who have been referred due to behavioral, social, emotional and/or learning difficulties. Many students have diagnoses such as ADHD, ASD or attachment disorders.

We are looking for you who, together with the class pedagogue, will take ownership and manage our ICB class, which currently houses 7 fantastic students from 1st–2nd grade.

What unites the students is not their difficulties, but their need for clear adults , secure relationships and clear learning situations .

Teaching with pedagogical treatment as a foundation

With us, teaching and special education are inextricably linked.

We work purposefully with pedagogical treatment in teaching , where learning takes place in a tailored environment with clear structure and professional guidance.

The core principles of pedagogical treatment are

  • We compensate for what the child cannot yet do and thus create an environment where the child does not experience repeated failures.
  • We focus on what the child has not yet developed.
  • We communicate and indicate the goal to the child and guide it on how to get there.
  • We adjust the environment so the child is continually provided with optimal development opportunities in relation to the developmental goals set for it.
  • We work with the child in the zone of proximal development .

This means that you as a teacher

  • Teach with clear goals and concrete support in all of the class subjects
  • Adapt the teaching to the students' prerequisites and zone of proximal development
  • Work systematically with structure, repetitions and clear boundaries
  • See behavior as communication and act professionally and calmly
  • Collaborate closely with the pedagogue who supports the teaching in the class

We adjust the framework before we set the demands , and we guide the students clearly on the path to academic and personal development.

Our values – and perhaps yours

With us, well-being and academic achievement are prerequisites for each other.

We work from

  • Recognition as the pedagogical foundation
  • Clear structure, predictability and fixed routines
  • A resource-oriented view of children
  • Small, safe learning communities
  • Close and respectful collaboration with parents

Our goal is not only academic results.

Our goal is to give the children enthusiasm for learning, courage in life and confidence in their own abilities .

Your role – as a teacher in a special educational environment

As a teacher at the Inclusion Center you will be a central adult in the students' school day. You:

  • Teach in the Inclusion Center's early years
  • Collaborate closely with your colleagues
  • Create calm and structured learning situations
  • Work with clear class leadership and relationship-building
  • Contribute to development plans, documentation and parental collaboration
  • Participate in an interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues, management and PPR

You can keep an overview, even when the students' emotions are running high – and they sometimes do.

You can stand firm – with calm, clarity and warmth, for you want the best for the students.

We offer you

  • A full-time position in a special educational learning environment in small classes
  • Students who benefit from explicit teaching and stable relationships
  • Close collaboration between teachers and pedagogues
  • Consultation with management, PPR and professionally engaged colleagues
  • An workplace where you never stand alone
  • A meaningful daily life where your professional expertise makes a real difference
  • Being part of a school and a department that want to develop

We are looking for you, who

  • Is a trained teacher
  • Has interest in or experience with special education and teaching
  • Works with recognition, structure and clarity
  • Believes in relationship work as a prerequisite for learning
  • Is calm, persistent and mentally robust
  • Has humor and a desire to be part of a committed community
