About the job

Would you teach and advise students on our academy- and diploma programs in public administration and management? Do you also have insight into how digitalization and artificial intelligence affect task solving, organization and competence needs in the public sector? Then you might be the one we are looking for in Leadership, Business and Organization at UCL.

Administration, management, digitalization and AI

We are seeking an adjunct/assistant professor for teaching, supervision, examination and educational development on our academy- and diploma programs in public administration – a teacher with solid administrative policy insight and an interest in how digitalization and artificial intelligence affect employees, tasks, work processes and organizations in the public sector.

About you

As a teacher, supervisor and examiner on our academy- and diploma programs in public administration, it is important that you are able to translate the theories and methods of your subject area into practically oriented teaching. With a focus on the learning objectives you must be able to link the content of the module courses to the students' everyday life and needs, so the teaching becomes both relevant and beneficial.

Since the target group we work with is diverse, it is important that you can adapt your teaching and supervision to different types of students. You must independently be able to develop, plan and adjust your learning activities and didactic approaches so that they match the students' different starting points and needs.

Your tasks

You will have a range of varied and composite tasks, including

  • Teaching, supervision and examination on academy- and diploma programs in public administration
  • Development and further development of teaching modules and learning activities.
  • Planning and conducting teaching in both physical and virtual learning environments.
  • Contributing to the development of competence development programs with a focus on digitization and artificial intelligence in the public sector.
  • Collaboration with clients, purchasers and partners on the development of training and competence development activities.
  • Contribute to the programs' knowledge base through knowledge activities and production

Your profile

We would like you to

  • Have strong teaching and supervision competences in public administration.
  • Have experience with or strong interest in how digitization and artificial intelligence affect task solving, organizing and leadership in the public sector – and can translate this knowledge into practically oriented teaching and competence development.
  • Have solid theoretical knowledge of public administration and administration as well as relevant and documented work experience in the public sector – preferably from leading, coordinating or specialized functions.
  • Be a skilled communicator – both orally and in writing.
  • Be business-oriented and have strong competencies in co-creating solutions with customers, purchasers and partners.
  • Be a strong facilitator and meeting chair.
  • Hold a relevant master's or candidate degree.

We particularly emphasize that you have experience with teaching, facilitating, supervising or another form of competence development for adults.

We offer

You will become part of an organization with competent colleagues. In our department we are 29 educationally oriented staff who, with mutual curiosity and shared reflection, are constantly moving to make a difference for the people we teach and the companies and organizations we collaborate with.

As an employee with us you get good opportunities to influence the development of our educations in close cooperation with strong and engaged partners. At the same time you get the chance to continuously develop your own professional skills and strengthen your knowledge base.

Workplace

Your primary places of work will be in Odense and Vejle, but you may also work elsewhere within UCL's coverage area.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a full-time position with 37 hours on average per week starting 1 February 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will be employed according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and the Regulation on the Job Structure for Vocational Academies, Professional Diploma Courses and Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole.

The position is covered by the principles of New Salary.

If you have another background, you will be employed under the respective collective agreement.

If you are professor-evaluated, we would like you to be professor-evaluated according to the job structure from 2013.

If you are professor-evaluated under previous job structures, you can, by agreement, choose that the employment takes place under the previously centrally fixed terms of salary and employment according to the job structure from 2003, which among other things can influence the size of your professor supplement and the possibility to be appointed as a member of the professor evaluation committee.

Alternatively you can agree on renewed professor evaluation under the current job structure and according to the rules in Chapter 5 of Regulation no. 673 of 13 May 2020 on professor qualification, professor evaluation and docent evaluation, etc. The evaluation is based on a short professor application of 8 pages concerning competencies in research and development. The application must be submitted to UCL in connection with the hiring process.

The evaluation is decided within 3-6 weeks by an external evaluation committee appointed by UCL. In case of negative evaluation, the employment may take place under the previous job structure or as adjunct.

UCL offers guidance in connection with preparing the application.

When employed as an adjunct you will enter a professor qualification program, cf. Regulation on professor qualification, professor evaluation and docent evaluation of teachers at vocational academies, professional diploma courses, Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole and certain maritime education institutions. An adjunct program is a maximum of 4 years.
