About the job

Do you want to work with legal issues and handling of complaints regarding higher education institutions, in a professionally strong legal office? Are you looking for an ambitious community where we lift together? Then the opportunity is here!

We build the foundation for the future

Knowledge shapes the future. In the Agency for Higher Education and Science we work to create value in society through excellent education and research. With us you become part of a culture with high professionalism and strong collaboration. We put students, researchers and citizens at the center of the work and are ambitious on our own and the education and research sector's behalf.

Your everyday life in an office with exciting and diverse tasks

In the Legal Department we are about 30 dedicated employees, of whom several are lawyers. The office has an important role as a staff function for colleagues in the agency's other professional offices, where we advise on legal matters in relation to higher education institutions, education, research and knowledge-based innovation, including the institutions' statutory framework, grant law and state support in the execution of subsidies and the rules for education support.

We also advise on administrative law and on procurement and contracts. We are also regularly in dialogue with the higher education institutions on legal matters. We have a close collaboration with our sector on personnel matters at the higher education institutions and are a link and partner in relation to the Danish Agency for Personnel and Competencies when it comes to collective agreements and negotiations.

In addition, we are responsible for data protection and allocation of student financial aid for study abroad.

In the office we are responsible for handling a number of complaint and supervision cases in the agency's area. In cooperation with professional offices we prepare all regulations in the Ministry of Research, Education and Digitisation's area, including the implementation of new political initiatives. We also have a close collaboration with the ministry's department, among other things in connection with legislative work.

As an employee in the office you will – with thorough training and sparring from your colleagues – have to work with the following tasks:

  • Handling of complaint and supervision cases.
  • Guidance of educational institutions on the agency's regulation rules
  • Processing approvals for new educations (prequalification)

You must be willing to work with varied tasks.

Are you our new colleague?

You have a master's level education, e.g. cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur or similar education with legal education elements. You preferably have experience from a similar position or a relevant student job.

You will become part of a political environment where you are professionally and personally challenged, and where we assume that you have:

  • Good collaboration skills and are a strong team player
  • High professionalism and good oral and written communication skills
  • A structured, thorough and results-oriented approach to tasks
  • Easy to smile in a busy daily life.

An ambitious and social workplace

You will become part of an ambitious and social workplace in Østerbro with dedicated and professionally strong colleagues, where we help each other with the tasks to constantly become better. We prioritize good collaboration and job satisfaction in everyday life, because we believe it is a prerequisite for success. Therefore there is room for laughter in the busy daily life. You also get good development opportunities and great flexibility so you can balance professional ambitions and private life.

Salary and terms of employment

You are employed as a legal officer in the Ministry of Research, Education and Digitisation under a collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Academics in the State (AC). There is an opportunity to negotiate allowances that match your qualifications.

The position is a maternity leave cover of about 9 months.

You can find information about salary levels at www.loenoverblik.dk .
